Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian West recently announced a new maternity shapewear range under her brand, SKIMS. This shapewear targets pregnant women, and some fans think that it conveys the wrong message. Read on to understand the negative feedback that Kim has been receiving.

The 39-year-old beauty mogul announced a new range of SKIMS maternity shapewear on her Instagram. She wrote, "What you've been waiting for: @SKIMS Maternity is coming soon! Introducing Maternity Solutionwear™ that offers the best in comfort and support for your changing body during and after pregnancy." Kim revealed that the shapewear range would launch on September 16th, and women can buy them in nine different colors. In her IG stories, she explained that the new SKIMS has "butt-shaping" designs. And the midriff area is made up with thinner fabric, "so it's not compressing on your stomach which is really important because you obviously don't want to do that." She added, "If only there were cute bras like this that were holding you up and snatching you and making you feel better about yourself while you can breastfeed — that would have been everything to me."

Despite these traits, some Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans aren't too thrilled about this shapewear. The message that pregnant women need to be in shape or have a slimmer physique didn't sit well with many of Kim's followers. Unhappy fans are criticizing the mom of four on social media. A critic commented, "Why would you put shapewear on your pregnant belly?" Then other said things like, "Shape wear for pregnant bodies... what the f*ck is this???" and "I'm sure that's the one thing pregnant women need above all! Being pressed to a slimmer figure." Check out a tweet from an enraged fan:

While some fans are criticizing this new line, others are thankful for it. There are so many women who are disappointed that this new range didn't come out when they were pregnant. A fan wrote, "Oh Nice! Now I have to get pregnant again." Another one chimed in, "We so needed this!!! Especially for my next pregnancy!! Yes!!" So, it looks like this backlash might not affect the sales of Kim's new range.

After announcing the end of the family reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim is now growing her brand. There have been reports that she wanted to quit the show as she wished to concentrate on her married life with Kanye West and her kids. Now, she has more bandwidth to focus on her personal life. Best of luck, Kim!
