BBC America has released a new teaser trailer for Killing Eve season 4, with an official release date confirmed for next February. Killing Eve features a magnificent cast that includes Grey's Anatomy alum Sandra Oh and rising Hollywood star Jodie Comer (Free Guy, The Last Duel) in lead roles. They are joined by Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), Kim Bodnia, Owen McDonnell, and Sean Delaney, to mention a few. Killing Eve first premiered in spring 2018 and proved to be an instant success both inside and outside the UK, receiving widespread acclaim from critics and general audiences.

Based on the Villanelle novel series by Luke Jennings and adapted for the screen by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Killing Eve is set in the world of espionage and follows Eve Polastri (Oh), a British intelligence agent who is tasked with capturing the psychopathic and skilled assassin Villanelle (Comer). Throughout the show, Eve and Villanelle find themselves in an enthralling cat-and-mouse chase staged all across Europe, and develop a perilous obsession with one another that leads to dire consequences.

Killing Eve season 4 was confirmed immediately after the season 3 finale aired back in May 2020. However, it was unclear as to when the spy-thriller series would return to production for the follow-up season due to the restrictions caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The cross-continental nature of Killing Eve's storyline would have made the task far more difficult for the producers with travel bans in place across 2020. However, much to the relief of the Killing Eve fanbase, it was announced that filming for season 4 had begun in June 2021, signalling the now-confirmed 2022 release for the last season.

In the final scene of Killing Eve season 3, episode 8, Eve and Villanelle make a pact to walk away from each other and decide never to see one another again. But as they part ways, they stop on their tracks and turn around to look at each other, unsure of what to do next and what the future holds for them. This new teaser suggests a fiery end to both Eve and Villanelle in Killing Eve season 4, as the two fatefully intertwined characters set off on journeys that could mark doom for the both of them. Whatever is in store for the last installment of Killing Eve, it is sure to be an action-packed finale with a high body count.
