Alien Xmas, the latest creation from Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo - better known as the Chiodo Brothers - includes a subtle clue to a Killer Klowns From Outer Space sequel. Strangely, though, the forty-two-minute long movie is marketed towards children, making their reference to the 1988 cult classic horror movie out of place, but one scene in Alien Xmas does offer a subtle clue towards the future of the Killer Klowns From Outer Space movie series.

The Chiodo Brothers are known for their impeccable use of special effects makeup to craft bizarre as well as horrific characters and creatures. They are primarily recognized for their movie Killer Klowns From Outer Space, which features clowns who have come to Earth to kill humans and cause mayhem. It was influenced by one of their other iconic creations from Pee-Wee's Big AdventureLarge Marge. Since its release in 1988, Killer Klowns From Outer Space has garnered an impressive cult following and the prospects of a sequel have remained in development since it premiered. It wasn't until October 2018 that a follow-up movie became a near certainty. By 2019, it was completely discarded when Disney purged over two-hundred shelved projects. The Killer Klowns sequel that never happened was set to be titled The Return Of The Killer Klowns From Outer Space in 3-D.

When it was announced that their latest project would be a short movie marketed towards children, no one expected a Killer Klowns From Outer Space reference to be featured due to the adult nature of their 1988 project. During the battle for Christmas Town, the iconic death by pies scene was made kid-friendly for Alien Xmas. While it could be a way to pay homage to their original alien invasion movie, shortly after Alien Xmas's debut rumors spread across the internet that the sequel may be happening at Netflix.

Feature Alien Xmas Chiodo Bros

By including the death by pies scene in Alien Xmas, the Chiodo Brothers subtly hinted at the Killer Klowns From Outer Space seque and when rumors began to spread that the sequel could take place with Netflix backing it, its inclusion looks like more than mere coincidence. In fact, it appears that the Chiodo Brothers strategically placed it in their children's book adaptation to pave the way for an onslaught of anticipating fans to speculate about Killer Klowns From Outer Space 2 online.

The original source that Alien Xmas is adapted from was also written by the Chiodo Brothers, but the pie scene was never in it. In effect, this was a purposeful choice made by them while crafting the animated feature. Many horror creators include hints and subtle clues for their fans to uncover, such as Ryan Murphy's recent poster art for season 10 of American Horror Story as well as Mike Flanagan's season 3 hint hidden in episode 1 of The Haunting Of Bly Manor. It is entirely plausible that they chose to feature the death by pies scene in order to leave their own clue towards what's to come for their cult classic movie.

Alien Xmas is like The Nightmare Before Christmas mixed with an alien invasion flick that is as close as anyone would ever get to a kid-friendly holiday version of Killer Klowns From Outer Space. And the fact that Alien Xmas released through Netflix and includes this major reference to the cult classic definitely feels like a major hint that the rumors of a Killer Klowns From Outer Space sequel on the platform is a real possibility.
