Khloé Kardashian from Keeping Up with the Kardashians is remaining friendly with Caitlyn Jenner for the sake of her half-sisters Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner. This news contradicts earlier reports by Caitlyn that she and Khloé haven't communicated for the past five or six years.
While appearing on the reality show, I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!, Caitlyn spoke candidly about her relationship with each member of the Kardashian-Jenner brood. She noted that when she transitioned, she had a special talk with each of the kids. Most of them were fine, but Khloé allegedly had a problem with her. As a result, they haven't really spoken in five or six years. However, a source close to the family disputes this bold claim.
The source told Us Weekly: "Khloé and Caitlyn aren’t the closest, but the idea that they haven’t spoken in 5-6 years is crazy. They have seen each other, they have spoken." They continued: "For her love of Kylie and Kendall, she wouldn’t have a bad relationship with her."
In October 2019, Caitlyn supposedly canceled an appearance at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino opening in Hollywood, Florida, in hopes of avoiding Khloé. Then on October 29th, Khloé flaked out on Caitlyn's 70th birthday party at Nobu, allegedly due to a previous work commitment. While it seems a little odd for Caitlyn to completely fabricate the story about Khloé not speaking to her for years, it wouldn't be the first time Caitlyn was accused of fabricating stories about the family. Khloe famously went after Caitlyn for making up details about her marriage to Kris Jenner during her now-infamous Vanity Fair interview. The fallout led to a lot of the tension between Caitlyn and the rest of the family, including the current back and forth with Khloe.
While Caitlyn seems prone to hyperbole, there's likely some validity to her claims that she and Khloé don't get along. That's such a bold claim to make without it being a least a little factual. The source who says there's no bad blood between them could simply be trying to protect their respective brands. The source could also be defending Khloé from looking insensitive towards Caitlyn as a result of her transition. Everyone wants to believe the Kardashian/Jenner family is as thick as thieves, because if that goes away, the family brand collapses. While Khloé probably smiles and bites her tongue whenever the topic of Caitlyn comes up, she's probably not interested in spending time with her or dealing with her. If that's the case, hopefully the new year will see the end of their grudge and the rebirth of their friendship -- not just for the sake of Kendall and Kylie.
