Key And Peele's "Noice" evolves from a one gag sketch into an unconventional love story. It's the nature of every sketch show to have skits that land and one's that don't, but Key And Peele's batting average was insanely good. Even lesser episodes of the Comedy Central series typically had at least one great sketch and it was always a good showcase for the versatility of the title duo. Some of their most fondly remembered skits include the Gremlins 2 pitch meeting, "East/West College Bowl" and “Continental Breakfast.”

Key And Peele ran for five seasons, and while the duo followed it up with 2016 action-comedy Keanu, they soon went their separate ways. Keegan-Michael Key is a regular presence on the big and small screen with the likes of Friends From College and Playing With Fire, while Jordan Peele took a surprise turn into horror with 2017's acclaimed Get Out. The film was a huge commercial and critical success, and Peele followed it up with 2019's Us and acts as producer on the upcoming Candyman sequel/reboot.

One of the standout elements of the best Key And Peele sketches was taking a simple comic premise, like "MC Mom" or "Consequences," and building on it to outlandish lengths. "Noice" certainly qualifies in that category as Peele's character watches some street dancing, and occasionally yells "Noice!" after seeing a sweet move to cheers from the crowd. He gets jealous when Key's character starts stealing his thing and yelling "Noice" back to him.

Peele soon saddles up to Key's unwelcome interloper, who states he's just "Noicin' your noice!" in a friendly way, but Peele shuts him down. The heartbroken Key disappears as Peele continues his "noice" routine, only to feel guilty and a little lonely after shunning his new friend. He desperately races to catch Key before he leaves on a bus and it starts raining, Four Weddings And Funeral-style. There's some emotional "noices" back and forth between them, before the two embrace and run off together to end one of Key And Peele's most bizarre skits.

Key And Peele's "Noice" walks a tightrope between deeply dumb and genuinely funny, and while it's not one of their best sketches overall, its a good example of what they do best. They took a silly idea and evolved it into a moving romantic comedy, with about 80% of the comedy coming from the word "noice." That's pretty impressive, as are the wigs and costumes both performers don for the sketch.
