Whether the characters are doing something nice for each other, giving each other encouraging advice, or just letting someone know they care, Smith's characters are often seen doing something surprisingly sweet.

Veronica Helps Dante When He Needs It (Clerks)

In Smith's debut movie Clerks, he tells the day in the life of two clerks, one in a convenience store and the other at a video store. Dante Hicks is the convenience store clerk, and he is someone who proves all throughout the movie that he never appreciates what he has.

While Dante feels sorry for himself and wishes he had a better life, he never realizes how great his girlfriend Veronica is. Silent Bob tells him that she brought him dinner and wonders how many other girlfriends would do that for a guy. However, Dante ruined everything in Clerks, which is a Kevin Smith trait for characters making bad decisions.

Chasing Amy was Kevin Smith's 1997 movie that received his highest critical praise. The movie starred Ben Affleck as a comic book creator named Holden McNeil who falls in love with a girl named Alyssa Jones. When he learns more about her sexual past, he considers leaving her.

This is when Silent Bob sets him straight. Bob tells Holden a story about a girl he used to love named Amy, but he broke up with her because of her past, delivering one of Chasing Amy's best quotes. Bob realized too late that he made a mistake, and it convinced Holden to give the relationship another chance. Unfortunately, he only made it worse.

God Saves Bethany (Dogma)

One of Kevin Smith's most controversial movies was his religious satire Dogma. The movie featured two angels walking the Earth who learn of a way they can get back into Heaven. The problem is that, if they succeed, they will destroy everything. It is up to a descendant of Jesus named Bethany to stop them.

In the end, Bethany succeeds but does so by sacrificing her own life. She brings back God by doing so. In a show of thanks, God resurrects Bethany and conceives a new child for her to deliver. God, then, happily does handstands and the world lives on.

Wholesome moments have an entirely different look when it comes to Jay in Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse movies. In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jay and Bob head to Los Angeles to stop the filming of a Bluntman and Chronic movie based on their likeness. Along the way, they meet a group of cat burglars, one of whom is a girl named Justice.

Jay ends up falling for Justice, but he has trouble telling her how he feels. He finally understands the key to a relationship is pet names. He comes up with one that fully fits his character, which makes Justice the happiest woman in the world at that moment.

Ollie's Best Dad Speech (Jersey Girl)

Jersey Girl opens with protagonist Ollie about to become a dad. However, tragedy strikes when his wife Gertie passes away giving birth. Tragedy strikes when she dies giving birth. After this, Ollie tries to keep working as a PR man while trying to be a single dad and loses his job as a result.

This leads to one of the movie's best moments, where he is sitting with his baby. Ollie looks down and admits that he has messed things up. He promises, however, to be there for his daughter and be the best dad he can be. Things don't get easy in the movie, but this wholesome moment sets the table for his journey.

Jersey Girl is genuinely one of Kevin Smith's most touching and wholesome movies of all time. In the film, Will Smith cameos in Jersey Girl as himself, and his motivational speech to Ollie is one of the movie's most touching scenes.

Ollie wanted to move to New York City and had an interview on the same day of his daughter's recital at school, putting his job before her yet again and causing a big fight. While at the interview, he saw Will Smith in the waiting room, and the two talked Smith talked about his kids and said if Ollie was smart, he would be at home playing with them, which convinced Ollie he needed to be a better dad.

Jersey Girl saw Affleck's Ollie make one mistake after another, pushing away his father, his daughter, and anyone who showed him love. He was bitter but driven in his own selfish pursuits. After an eye-opening experience with Will Smith, he chose to make a change.

The end of the movie was one of Kevin Smith's most wholesome moments. It took place after Gertie's performance at school and Ollie celebrated with his family. When Gertie asked why he gave up a chance at his dream job, Ollie said that the only thing he was ever good at was being her father and that was enough for him.

Randal Breaks Down To Dante (Clerks II)

In Clerks, Dante was always the pessimistic one while Randal was the guy who was sarcastic above all else. Almost nothing had changed when they returned in Clerks II. While they both worked at a burger joint now, Dante and Randal were still the same. This all changed in the end.

Dante finally found what he was looking for. When it came time to figure out their future, it is in a jail cell. When Jay and Bob offer to loan them money to reopen the Quick Shop and RST Video, Randal convinces Dante to accept. For the first time ever, viewers see Randal get emotional as he breaks down and says he is scared to lose the best friend he ever had

Saying Goodbye To A Walrus (Tusk)

Kevin Smith made a horror movie in 2014 called Tusk, which was unlike anything he ever attempted before. The movie was based on a joke made during a podcast that involved the final scene, which had the host named Wallace laughing all the way through the description.

The moment was as ridiculous as he described it when it played out in the movie, but was a somehow wholesome moment. Wallace had been turned into a living walrus man by a dangerous seaman named Howard. In that final scene, his girlfriend Ally showed up and told Wallace she still loved him before walking away crying as he bellowed in his cage.

Jay Bonds With His Daughter (Jay And Silent Bob Reboot)

In 2019, Kevin Smith returned to his Askewniverse with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. This movie had basically the same plot as Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but this time Jay and Bob are traveling with Jay's daughter he never knew and her friends.

The two didn't get along, but by the end, they were on the same page. In a touching moment, Jay took Millie to see the Quick Stop that he and Bob hung out in front of and told her the stories of his adventures there and through time, including when he met her mom, Justice.
