For nine seasons and over 200 episodes, viewers were blessed by learning more about Dunder Mifflin Scranton — the (somehow) most successful branch in a failing paper company. With Michael Scott as the branch's fearless leader for seven seasons, we got to know this office like the back of our hand. And while most romcom lovers were fawning over the Pam and Jim troupe—and even what was going to happen between Dwight and Angela—others were focused on the other lives in The Office.

One character, in particular, Kevin Malone started the series off with little presence. He was monotoned and very quiet. As time went on though, writers gave Kevin more of a voice, and what a voice it was. The silly accountant was horrible with numbers and loved food. In fact, working with Angela and Oscar, the two never gave Kevin much responsibility, which didn't seem to upset Kevin much.

As irresponsible and ditzy as Kevin was, he had a ton of endearing qualities that made most viewers see the sweet side of Kevin, so we compiled 10 of those moments where Kevin was the sweetest.

Telling Michael That Jan Was Pregnant

In the finale of the fourth season, Dunder Mifflin has a new HR rep (and a love interest for Michael) and it's Toby's last day of work before he moves to Costa Rica. To celebrate Toby's departure, the entire office throws a going-away party for him.

To grab more supplies for the party, Kevin leaves early to run to the store. Minutes later, he calls Michael in a panic and tells him to meet him at the grocery store. When Michael finally arrives, he realizes Jan is pregnant. If it wasn't for Kevin calling Michael to give him a head's up, Michael would have been a mess if he found out another way.

When He cried After Robert California Accidentally Hit Him

In the earlier seasons of The Office, no one knew Oscar was gay. Actually, had it not been for Michael rudely outing him, no one would really know (you know, before falling in love with Senator Lipton). Eventually, Oscar becomes more comfortable in himself and decides to empower others by coming out and loving themselves, too.

Oscar decides to put a video on YouTube to let younger generations know that life after coming out does get better. However, former manager Robert California decides to take over the video and after Kevin got too close, Robert head-butted Kevin which caused Kevin to squeal out in pain. Poor Kevin!

When He Got A Girl's Number At The Valentine’s Day Party

Kevin Malone and Lynn - The Office

When we first meet Kevin, he's engaged to a woman named Stacy who already has a child. As time goes on, Stacy's name isn't used too much anymore and we learn the two broke up. Kevin is actually one of the few characters who doesn't have a love interest in the show!

In season five, Kevin's luck changes when he meets a woman named Lynn at an office Valentine's Day party. We don't hear much about their relationship, but we do see the two smitten with one another and even made out at Cafe Disco!

He Adopted An Older Dog (Although Everyone Thought It Was Dead)

Angela may have been the office's cat lady but if there was another character who could have had a house full of pets, it might as well be Kevin. But, as we know, Kevin isn't the most responsible of humans, so having a house full of dogs wouldn't end well for anyone involved. However, in the episode "Fundraiser," Kevin ends up adopting an elderly dog who needed a good home. He named her Ruby and told everyone at the office how easy of a dog she was. She never moved, never ate, and she smelled horrible... This led everyone to believe Kevin had a dead dog in his house without his knowledge; but as we later see, Ruby was very much alive and just loved to sleep.

His Annual Chili Recipe

Kevin carries his homemade curry in to the office in The Office

At the start of "Casual Friday" in the fifth season, we see Kevin unloading a massive pot of chili from his car and into the office. He explains to the camera that it's a famous chili recipe that's been passed down the Malone family for generations.

He makes the dish once a year for the office and takes much pride in putting it together. He explains he's up the entire night before pressing garlic and toasting chilis, but once he arrives in the office, he spills his chili all over the office floor! The poor man was in such a panic, he began shoveling the spilled chili back into the pot!

The Hotel Threw Away His Shoes

Fans couldn't wait for the day Jim and Pam got married. After years of watching them flirt, drift apart, fight, and eventually date, they were finally about to become man and wife.

After much debate, Jim and Pam decided to invite everyone to their wedding in Niagara Falls and no one was more excited than Kevin. He was pumped to meet new women, grab some numbers, and show off his new hair. However, on the day of the wedding, he finds out the hotel trashed his shoes because they smelled so bad. He didn't know what else to do at that moment so he put two tissue boxes on his feet to act as shoes and called it a day. It was adorable seeing how happy he was that his boxed-shoes were such a conversation starter at the wedding.

When He Tried To Warn Jim About Roy

After Jim and Pam kissed in secret after casino night, Jim transferred and Pam broke it off with Roy. But moving away from Pam didn't last long because he ended right back at Scranton after his branch closed. And he didn't come alone, he brought Karen. Now Pam had to see how it felt to see Jim with another woman in the workplace.

During their union, Roy found out that Jim kissed Pam and tried attacking him. Hoping it would never happen again, Kevin told Jim he had his back if it ever happened again. Kevin may not be able to do much in a fight but he sure is sweet for thinking of his friend in a time of need.

When He Could Do Math As Long As It Involved Pie

Kevin Malone and pies in The Office

As an accountant for a paper company, Kevin really isn't good at numbers. It's actually surprising that he even got the job at Dunder Mifflin anyway. In fact, when Michael had to either find more money in the budget or fire someone, everyone thought it was going to be Kevin since Angela and Oscar did a majority of the work. However, on one fateful day, the gang of Dunder Mifflin Scranton took a road trip to grab some pies. As you can imagine, Kevin was very excited about the opportunity and was calculating how many pies he was going to devour. And oddly enough, his math was right! When it comes to pies, Kevin's a genius!

He Cared More About Snacks Than His Safety During Dwight's Fire Alarm

Dwight is known for doing some pretty outlandish stunts as a way to prepare his co-workers, but in this instance, he did more harm than good.

After realizing no one was taking his fire safety meeting seriously, Dwight locked the doors, cut the phone lines, and caused the fire alarms to go off to see if his co-workers knew how to act in a fire. Obviously, no one knew what to do but Kevin did what he thought was best; he broke open the vending machine to grab (or save?) as many snacks he could get. It's clear he thought this through in case a fire ever did happen.

He Felt So Confident In His Toupee!

Kevin Malone wears a coupe for the wedding on the office

As a balding man, we never knew Kevin was insecure about his hair until he showed up to work wearing a toupee. He compared himself to Ashton Kutcher and loved how it made him feel. He decided to wear it to Jim and Pam's wedding in an attempt to pick up some girls, and he also wore it to work after learning his new boss (Deangelo) disliked bald people. Although it's just a toupee, it was adorable to see how happy it made him.
