Marvel president Kevin Feige has said that working on both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been "mind-blowing." The Spider-Man threequel is set for release later this year, while the Doctor Strange follow-up will make its way to the big screen in May next year, following Marvel's recent confirmation of a number of production delays. The two highly-anticipated releases are set to blow the Marvel Cinematic Universe wide open, as both movies are set to heavily feature the multiverse, a concept that has been teased for a while now, but recently became more of a central theme within the MCU following the release of both Wandavision and Loki on Disney+.

No Way Home sees director Jon Watts returning for a third time, following the success of his two previous Spidey installments, Homecoming and Far From HomeTom Holland's Peter Parker is set to come face-to-face with one of Marvel's most iconic villains in the form of Doc Ock, played by Alfred Molina. This character is one that fans of the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy will be incredibly familiar with, however, Holland's Parker certainly won't be. This full-circle moment for comic book fans was made even more exciting when it was announced that Sam Raimi (the director behind Maguire's Spider-Man films) would be directing Multiverse of Madness, which is set to link heavily to the events of this upcoming Spider-Man feature.

Now, Feige has opened up about what the experience of working with Raimi, Watts, and Molina on these newer projects has been like for him. Speaking to Empire, the Marvel president spoke to how "absolutely surreal" it has been, acknowledging how important these projects are to him. Feige went on to say that working concurrently on the two films, with such a unique and exciting connection between them, has been "mind-blowing." Check out Feige's full quote below.

It's absolutely surreal to be working on a Doctor Strange movie with Sam Raimi in one part of the office, and then working on a Spider-Man movie with Jon Watts and Alfred Molina as Doc Ock in another room. That has been a mind-blowing part of the last 10 years of my life.

Feige was a producer on Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and so to be reunited with the director after all these years is likely to be incredibly exciting for the pair. Considering how far Spider-Man as a character, and equally the Marvel universe itself, has come after all these years, it's easy to understand how it could be so "surreal" for the Marvel alumn to be back working together on a project that holds so much gravity for the MCU as a whole.

While the events of both sequels have been kept largely under wraps, it hasn't stopped fans speculating about what the films could potentially mean for the wider MCU as audiences delve deeper into Phase 4. Maguire's rumored appearance within the upcoming release of No Way Home has been a huge topic of discussion since the confirmation of Molina's appearance within the film, and if this were to come to fruition, it would only make Raimi's connection even more nostalgic for fans. Depending on the outcome of No Way Home, it may not be entirely out of the realm of possibility that Raimi is reunited with his Doc Ock again, but audiences will have to wait for Multiverse of Madness to see what Raimi has in store for the MCU.
