Kevin Clark, known for his work in School of Rock, has passed away at the age of 32. Clark starred in the 2003 comedy as drummer Freddy Jones. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, with many praising the cast, including Clark and the other young actors. School of Rock was directed by Richard Linklater and starred Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Miranda Cosgrove, and several others alongside Clark. The film focused on a down-on-his-luck guitarist named Dewey Finn (Black) who works as a substitute teacher. He eventually brings together a group of students to try to win a Battle of the Bands competition, with Clark's Freddy one of the performers.

School of Rock released when Clark was in his teens. He chose to focus on music after the movie came out, making it his only film appearance. At the time of Clark's passing, he was a professional drummer in Chicago, near where he was born in Highland Park. He began playing drums as a kid, and his love for the instrument carried him through adulthood.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Clark died in the early hours of Wednesday, May 26. He passed away soon after being hit by a car while riding his bike around 1:20 a.m. An unnamed 20-year-old women was driving the car and received numerous citations. Clark had recently started a new band, with his mother, Allison Clark, telling the Sun-Times he called them his "musical family." Allison Clark also spoke of her son's love for performing, stating, "He loved music. He’s just a raw talent. He’s got a heart of gold."

After the tragic news about Clark's passing came out, some of his School of Rock co-stars, including Black and Cosgrove, shared tributes on social media. Black spoke fondly of his time working with Clark, mentioning "so many great memories." He also expressed his condolences to Clark's family and those who worked on School of Rock with them. Along with Black, Cosgrove shared some photos of herself with Clark, also mentioning the memories they shared and his "amazing soul."
