Kenny Powers Is Back with 'Eastbound & Down' Season 2 Trailer

Eastbound and Down Season 2 trailer

The first season of HBO's cult hit Eastbound & Down was short and sweet. The foul-mouthed Major League washout continues his downward spiral in Mexico as he attempts the self-proclaimed "biggest comeback celebration any ya'll have ever seen."

The first Eastbound & Down teaser appeared a few months ago in the form of a Dark Knight teaser parody. Our first glimpse of footage in this new official trailer proves season two will get deeper, darker and way more pitiful. There really is no way to go but down for Kenny Powers. Then again, that's what makes him so great.

It's hard to give Kenny Powers the respect he deserves (as a comedic character) in a PG setting. He is at his finest when the chips are down and the censors are off. HBO has given the show some fantastic freedom and apparently enough of a budget to cross the border and take the show to Mexico.

The trailer presents quite a lot in such a short amount of time. At one point, Powers breaks open a door and fires a handgun. It looks like Powers is going to get himself in some dangerous stuff in Mexico. Considering his propensity for drug and alcohol abuse, it's safe to assume some drug lords will be involved.

Check out the trailer for season 2 of Eastbound & Down below. The trailer is a wonderfully epic showcase of the show's comedy in a family-friendly way - a far cry from its true form.

While the show's first season didn't hit upon a large audience, its fans are ravenous and passionate. As one of those diehard Eastbound & Down fans myself, I genuinely hope this season gives HBO the confidence to bring Kenny Powers and friends to theaters with his own feature film. As a story however, his tale needs the length of a miniseries to fit everything in.

Needless to say, we should all remain hopeful that Eastbound & Down finds its niche this season. Another six episodes of diehard fans and little profit will make it a tough sell for HBO to fund a third season. Either way, season two kicks off soon and it will surely bring the hardcore laughs and vulgar language.

Are you a diehard Kenny Powers fan or has this trailer piqued your interest?
