Kendall Jenner, star of The Kardashians, is being accused of staging post-split photos with former boyfriend Devin Booker. Earlier this month, it was revealed the model and NBA player broke up after two years of dating. Days after the news was confirmed, photos of Kendall and Devin hanging out together went viral. Now, it's suspected those friendly shots were a PR ploy.

Before the split, Kendall kept her relationship with Devin, which began sometime in 2020, very private. The basketball star didn't even appear on her family's Hulu series. However, he attended some of the major events, including Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's Italian wedding last month. The breakup rumors started after fans noticed some small social media clues. This included Devin deleting a few Instagram photos and unliking tweets. Because of Kendall and Devin's private relationship, the post-split photos raised some eyebrows, and possibly for good reasons.

A source told Page Six on Wednesday, June 29 that the Malibu-set photo shoot was staged, referring to it as a "PR stunt." The anonymous insider alleged that the staging was to benefit Kendall, who recently spoke about Roe v. Wade. The source explained, “Her team does not want it to look like she was dumped." After all, the social media activity that lead to the breakup rumors was all on Devin's end. The insider also claimed it was Kendall's "people" who set the whole thing up. The team allegedly requested that her former boyfriend meet her at Soho House, where the photos were taken. When the pics were first published, sources claimed the two spent their time together laughing and smilingMeanwhile, when the breakup was revealed, it was reported Devin wasn't ready to make a big commitment. Sources also claimed both parties were too busy with their careers to settle down.

The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker

This is far from the first time the KarJenners have been accused of staging something for better PR. And those accusations have especially racked up lately. The reality stars earned a lot of flack for a staged meeting about Tristan Thompson on The Kardashians season 1 finale. Kim Kardashian was then accused of using her kids to boost her public image. And just before Page Six reported Kendall's photo shoot may have been faked, Khloe admitted she knew about criticism over their show's editing.

While Kendall is generally the most private of her sisters, this wouldn't be the first time she engaged in a narrative-shaping stunt. Many fans called out the Hulu show for pretending the model was out of the country during Astroworld. In reality, Kendall was in attendance at the deadly Travis Scott concert. This was one of the ways the family completely avoided referencing the tragedy on their show. It remains to be seen how Kendall's split will be handled, if it's even mentioned at all. One things viewers can look forward to is the Kardashians referencing Black Chyna's lawsuit in season 2.
