Kena: Bridge of Spirits is now available, and players will need to prepare for several tough boss fights. Corrupt Taro is arguably one of the harder bosses Kena has to offer. Players encounter this boss after cleansing the shrines in the magical Forgotten Forest. All his relics must also be collected. Players should remember to stay agile and vigilant, as this boss is fast.

Corrupt Taro is a beautiful but terrifying creature in Kena: Bridge of Spirits with a few different fight phases, each incorporating new attacks. In the first phase of the fight, he relies mostly on his speed, attacking in a hit-and-run style by charging in to get a few swipes against Kena before backing away. These attacks are easy to dodge if players can get the timing down. Deflecting this attack interrupts two of his three swipes in the combo.

Taro also has a slam attack that he prepares for by raising both arms. This attack does AOE damage, so players are advised to get out of the way quickly or else risk being hit multiple times and knocked down. Corrupt Taro has a pounce attack that is telegraphed when he runs the perimeter of the arena. If pink symbols appear in front of him, that signals a spin attack that does damage in all directions. The last of his attacks for players to look out for is his explosion attack. He uses this each time players chip away a third of his health. When Taro drops his sword, he gets faster, so players should keep on their toes.

Kena Bridge of Spirits Review Roundup

Corrupt Taro has a lantern hanging around his neck that glows orange on and off during the fight. Every time it begins glowing, players should take advantage of this obvious weak point and shoot an arrow at the lantern. Kena's Focus ability can really help since Taro is so fast. Hitting the lantern will stun the boss for a few moments, giving players the chance to heal Kena or get a few extra hits in.

Corrupt Taro’s second weak spot is his right shoulder, where players can command rot spirits to swarm. This will hold him down to allow for a few more close-range attacks. Hitting this shoulder with an arrow will cause an explosion and deal significant damage.

Corrupt Taro is the boss fight for players who enjoy long-range fights and pride themselves on their speed and ability to dodge. Kena: Bridge of Spirits has multiple fights for players of every battle style, with beautifully grotesque monsters waiting around every corner.
