It's hard to believe that the cast for Christopher Nolan's next project Inception could get any bigger or any more awesome. And yet it has, with two more names added to the already bulging cast list. They are Ken Watanabe and Tom Hardy.
Watanabe will be returning to work with Nolan again after starring in Batman Begins (as the first-seen Ra's Al Ghul) - he will play the villain of Inception, a character who blackmails Leonardo DiCaprio's "CEO type." Tom Hardy, who turned in a blistering performance as violent British prisoner Charles Bronson in the similarly titled biopic, will play a part of DiCaprio's team.
The two of them will join the already-announced cast members DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine.
Details of Nolan's newest film are being kept firmly under wraps - apart from a vague plot outline that reveals it as a "contemporary sci-fi actioner set within "the architecture of the mind," we don't really know anything about it. It's not right to say it looks great because of that fact, but the director and the cast so far assembled leads to high anticipation for what's in store for us.
Normally, I would be willing to say this is it on the casting front for Inception, but at the rate it's going it doesn't really look like that's the case...
What do you think of Watanabe and Hardy joining Inception? How do you think the cast is shaping up so far?
Inception is set to start shooting this summer, and is scheduled to be released on July 16th, 2010.
