Khloé Kardashian took it back to her roots by temporarily working as Kris Jenner's assistant on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While the youngest Kardashian daughter had good intentions, the work dynamic between her and her mom was not what Kris wanted.

Kris Jenner has made a name for herself by transforming from a stay-at-home mom to a billionaire manager of her six children. While working as her kids' manager has proven to be a success another working relationship between them has shown not to be as promising. When the mom-ager's assistant took a holiday vacation, Khloé "interviewed" to fill in and went on to help her mom at Kylie Cosmetics. Although Khloé felt she did well, her mom had a contrasting opinion.

Khloé entered Kylie Cosmetics fully prepared and, loaded with optimism, said, "I've got my assistant shoes on, I've got my fanny pack, I'm ready to go hands-free. I'm here to help and make Kris Jenner's life a breeze." Her previous work experience with her mom seemed to be solid evidence the day would be a breeze. Contrary to the Good American founder's belief, the job was not as she expected and mother Jenner was unsatisfied with her daughter's work performance.

The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch provided Khloé a list of things to do, including putting together promo kits for Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin, making copies and checking to see if snacks were stale. For every task, the Revenge Body host maintained her excitement for the job. Things took a turn when the E! Executive VP of Original Programming caught Kris off guard with an unannounced visit. "I would like to be alerted that the head of the network is in the building because I would handle myself very professionally," expressed Kris when she addressed Khloé about not informing her of the executive's arrival. In typical Khloé nature she responded with a witty remark, "As opposed to being a drunk mess?" Khloé's response aligns with her usual banter with her mother but doesn't work when she's her assistant.

Their typical mother-daughter dialogue became more apparent as a hindrance throughout the day. When Kris asked Khloé to follow up with the pharmacy about her medication the reality star responded, "For herpes?". Usually Kris may have found this amusing but because they were at work she did not engage. In addition, to their normal communication style with each other their client/manager relationship contributed to the failure of the new work dynamic.  After Kris asked her temporary assistant to get her an updated copy of Kendall Jenner's schedule Khloé was unable to refrain from asking, "My assistants do my scheduling so why would you do Kendall's schedule". Unsatisfied with her mom's rebuttal of "I'm Kendall's manager" Khloé stated, "You don't do s**t for me." Instead of doing what Kris requested, like her assistant would probably do,  Khloé questioned her tasks.

Khloé and Kris's playful mother-daughter rapport works as a manager/client work relationship but not when one is working for the other in a more superior position. Since Khloé has previously worked for her mother, she has gained more work experience, started her own company and is not afraid to share her opinions. Going back to being someone's assistant can be imaginably hard after such accomplishments have been made, especially when it's your parent. Additionally, Kris was not used to Khloé's behavior coming from her assistant and later stated she "needed an assistant not a daughter." The idea of helping her mother is a thoughtful act and thankfully, for the sake of their relationship, it was only temporary.
