As Keeping Up With The Kardashians nears the end of filming its last season, Kim Kardashian asked production if she could keep one very specific prop from the set. The family is currently filming the final season, which is set to air in 2021, while season 19 is currently on air.
When the show Keeping Up With the Kardashians first aired 14 years ago in 2007, the family could have never imagined it would make it to 20 seasons. The show turned the Kardashian family's lives upside down. Since the start, Kim Kardashian has used the fame from the show to create a multi-million dollar empire. Fans watched as the Kardashian sisters began their business careers with their DASH stores throughout the early seasons of the show. As the sisters drifted apart to work on their own ventures, Kim went on to create multiple successful brands of her own. She currently has her makeup brand, KKW Beauty, as well as her shapewear line, SKIMS. Over time, admirers of the show tuned in weekly to watch as the family grew and evolved over the years. Kim is now in law school while also being a mom to four beautiful children. While most of the scenes took place within the homes of the family members, occasional vacations, work trips and lunch outings were also shown.
Now that the Kardashian family is getting ready to wrap up the last bit of filming for season 20 of KUWTK, Kim Kardashian has one request for the production team. Cosmopolitan divulged that Kim has asked if she could hold onto her personalized microphone pack at the end of filming. While this may seem like an odd thing to want to take as a keepsake, there probably was not much else to choose from. As the family typically films from their own homes, most of the "props" seen on the show are actually their own personal belongings. Besides, it is personalized just for her, so really she has every right to want to keep it.
Kim Kardashian was recently named the first ever Grazia Global Cover Star. In her interview for the magazine, she touched on the ending of KUWTK, mentioning her want to hang on to the microphone pack as a memory of the show. Kim joked, "Whoever thought we’d miss getting mic'ed?" She went on to talk about how emotional of a decision it was to finally call an end to the hit show. Kim expressed her gratitude for the show, referring to it as "dream" for the family. Kim recalled all of the tears, not only the day of but the entire weekend following. She even shared that she still gets emotional speaking about it.
It is crazy to think that after 14 years of filming, all of the places this family has been to and experiences they have had, the most sentimental memory for Kim Kardashian to hold onto was her personalized microphone pack. It just goes to show that even behind all of the money, fame and glamour, it really is the little things that mean the most. Although long time viewers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians are just as upset about the verdict of ending the show, they still have another season and a half to look forward to. And don't forget, there are always reruns to look back on.
