Amid reports of Kourtney Kardashians' newfound romance with rock star Travis Barker, her ex Scott Disick is sharing his thoughts on the relationship. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star explained his lack of 'surprise' in their budding romance. Kourtney has entertained a number of relationships since her 2015 breakup with Scott.
The two had been off-and-on since they began dating in 2006 and welcomed three children together. Since their split, they've remained close friends while co-parenting their kids, Mason, Penelope, and Reign. While Scott has been hot and heavy on the dating scene since his August 2020 split with Sofia Richie, Kourtney has remained single since her 2018 breakup with model Younes Bendjima. Romance rumors have followed Kourtney and Travis over the years, of her due to their friendship and them being neighbors in Calabasas. But, it isn't until recently that reports confirmed their romance and neither star denied the news.
With Scott and Kourtney being good friends despite their romantic history together, the Flip it Like Disick shared his approval of his ex's new romance with the Blink-182 drummer. "Scott has been around Travis on several occasions and thinks he's a great guy," a source close to Scott told E! News. "He's really happy for Kourtney and is not surprised they are dating." In fact, the father of three isn't at all surprised that they are dating. "Kourtney has spent a lot of time with Travis and it's not shocking to him that they developed a romantic relationship," the insider added. With the Poosh founder having been single for the last few years, her ex is "happy" to see her with someone new. "She hasn't dated someone in a while and Scott wants her to be happy," the source explained before adding that the former couple "are in a great place and they have come to terms that they are strictly friends and co-parents."
Fans of the show have long hoped that Kourtney and Scott get back together. But, they're far past that and are strictly friends focused on raising their children together. "There's no romance there and he couldn't be happier that she's moved on," the source added. "As long as the kids are in a healthy situation and Kourtney's in a good place, then Scott is happy for them." The statement resembles that of Kourtney's around the time reports surfaced of Scott's involvement with 19-year-old Amelia Hamlin. The two haven't been spotted together since the New Year's trip to Mexico. However, it's still speculated that the two are seeing each other.
Following his breakup with Sofia last summer, the young model unfollowed both Scott and Kourtney after he was spotted spending time with his ex Bella Banos. The move was a clear sign of just how good of friends the former couple is.
