Kim Kardashian West of Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame and Kanye West are rumored to be going through the process of a divorce. While it's always a sad thing when relationships don't work out, Kanye had been displaying multiple red flags for the last few years of their relationship. Here are some of the ways Kim may in fact be better off without Kanye in her life.

Although Kim and Kanye's divorce has not been officially confirmed, there's been speculation about their relationship being on the outs for a while now. With rumors already swirling about who each of them may be moving on with, it seems that many are in agreement that the pairing hadn't been healthy for a while. Here are some examples.

Politics

Kim Kardashian came out in full support of Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election. However, her political reputation was tarnished by Kanye West, who ran for president himself. Many Americans worried that Kanye would take votes away from Joe Biden and help Donald Trump get re-elected. While the number of votes Kanye got was pretty minuscule, Kim Kardashian was torn between supporting her husband or supporting the Democrats. Kim faced backlash after each of Kanye's campaign speeches where he'd make controversial comments like saying slavery was a choice. Now that they may divorce, Kim is free to voice her political opinions without catching flack for not supporting her husband. And seeing as she wants to wield her influence as a lawyer and celebrity to help get the wrongly convicted out of prison, she's going to need all the credibility she can get.

Personal Values

If the personal is political, it is especially true when your husband runs for president and puts your personal values on blast. Last summer Kanye tweeted that "I put my life on my God that North's mom would never photograph her doing Playboy." He repeated this sentiment that the West children will never do Playboy in another tweet. His wife Kim has done Playboy and is more open about sex than Kanye. Not only did Kanye disparage Kim's choices but he also prematurely sex-shamed his children for their potential future choices while some of them were still in diapers. Kanye is a very religious person and Kim seems to have gone along with that - she was always Christian but clearly had more a more liberal approach to religion before marrying Kanye. Now that she may be divorced, Kim can practice the kind of religion and moral values that suit her best.

Privacy

Kanye put much of Kim Kardashian's personal business into the world, with seemingly little regard for her privacy. He tearfully told a crowd of supporters that Kim had wanted an abortion when she found out she was pregnant with North. The pain that Kim must have felt after finding out that Kanye said this, not to mention what his daughter North will go through when she finds it, could be grounds enough for divorce right there. He also let the whole world in on his splintering relationship with Kim, who was doing her best to help Kanye with his mental health. Kanye tweeted that Kris Jenner and Kim tried to "lock him up," while Kim was trying to keep her attempts to help Kanye out of the press. Now that they may be ending things, Kim can hope that her very personal business won't be shared with the world by someone she trusts.

While Kanye has allegedly been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and may have been having a mental episode when making most of his controversial tweets, the damage they caused Kim Kardashian can't be disregarded. Hopefully, Kanye will continue to concentrate on dealing with his mental health, and Kim will be able to focus on her goals of prison reform and recovering from the stress she's surely been under.
