Amid the release of former Keeping Up With the Kardashians guest star Kanye West's new album Donda, fans are noticing all the references to Kim Kardashian. With all that Kanye's gone through since releasing his last full-length studio album, his supporters were anticipating the reveals he would make. Between losing the 2020 presidential election and Kim's divorce filing, Kanye had a lot to get off his chest. His emotion can be heard throughout the 27-song tracklist. There is a lot revealed when it comes to his breakup.
Kim was happy to support Kanye at his listening party event. For the third event, she wore a white Balenciaga wedding gown, and the divorcing couple seemingly recreated their wedding day to close out the show. While many felt it was a sign of reconciliation, sources say it was just a "performance art" piece. It was Kim from KUWTK's way of showing how she supports her ex-husband's career.
The songs that were teased at the listening events revealed Kanye's claims of Kim still being in love with him. It also showed his incorporation of his late mother's old speech, which highlighted the importance of family.
Kanye West Talks About The Truth
Now that the Donda album is out, the songs reveal Kanye's take on their ongoing divorce. The songs really tell a story. In the song "Hurricane", Kanye calls out Kim by name and talks about how hard the truth about their relationship was for him to face. "Heated by the rumors, read into it too much/Fiendin' for some true love, ask Kim, 'What do you love?'/Hard to find what the truth is, but the truth was that the truth suck/Always seem to do stuff, but this time it was too much," Kanye raps on the song. The last line seemingly makes reference to Kim's February divorce filing. Kanye was so upset with Kim's petition that he cut off communication with her. She could only contact him through his security team. Earlier this month, the superstars started to show signs of getting back to a better place.
Kanye West Talks About Moving On
Elsewhere on the song "Hurricane", Kanye makes reference to moving on from Kim with a new woman. "Here I go actin' too rich, here I go with a new chick," he raps. The album's release came on the heels of Kanye's breakup with model Irina Shayk. The pair enjoyed a two-month fling before deciding to go their separate ways. Later in the song, Kanye makes mention of the $60 million home he and Kim shared in Calabasas, which Kanye decided he didn't want to live in. "Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement," Kanye raps. "Sixty-million-dollar home, never went home to it."
Ahead of Kim's divorce filing, it was said they had been living separately with Kanye living out of his ranch in Wyoming while Kim stayed in Los Angeles with the four kids. In the song "Jail", Kanye makes mention of changing his phone number "so you can't explain." The line references when Kanye changed his number after Kim's divorce filing. Later on in the song, he raps, "Guess who's getting 'exed?/You made a choice that's your bad, single life ain't so bad."
Kanye Calls Kim His Favorite "Prom Queen"
In the song "Off The Grid", Kanye notes his life in seclusion, saying, "Had to move away from people that's miserable." The line hints at the peace he found in Wyoming. Elsewhere in the song, Kanye raps, "I pray that my family they never resent me." His line shows the guilt he feels over his dissolved marriage. He wants the respect of his kids despite the split. In "Lord I Need You," Kanye tells Kim that she will always be his favorite "prom queen."
He still has so much love for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star amid their ongoing divorce. He also mentioned that she "came here to show that you still in love with me." This may reference Kim's presence at all three listening parties. Fans are hopeful the pair might get back together. Maybe Kanye is, too.
