Lamar Odom got support from the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family during his journey to sobriety. The former NBA player was still legally married to Khloe Kardashian at the time of his near-fatal overdose in 2015. Despite already filing for divorce, Khloe put her emotions aside and decided that she would remain by Lamar's side while he was on the road to recovery. Now, years later, Lamar is looking back and praising the famous family for being there for him, despite his bad behavior as a married man.

Longtime KUWTK fans can vividly remember the Khloe & Lamar days when the pair starred in their own spin-off that followed their life as a married couple. The two moved fast, getting married in 2009, just one month after meeting each other. However, Khloe from KUWTK was a star in her own right and nothing like the typical basketball wife, so the pair started living separate lives two years into the marriage. By 2013, Khloe had decided to file for divorce as Lamar's career started to spiral out of control. Reports of substance abuse began to surface. Khloe later admitted that Lamar had been unfaithful in their marriage. In 2015, Lamar was hospitalized after suffering a near-fatal overdose at a Las Vegas brothel.

During his recovery journey, Khloe held off on the divorce filing and joined with her family to support Lamar. While recently appearing on Facebook Live's Addiction Talk, Lamar opened up about his past substance abuse issues and how the Kardashian family put him in rehab prior to his near-fatal overdose. “I remember being out one day, and I was out with one lady, I was getting high, acting like really extreme over the top,” Lamar explained. “I’m putting anything in my mouth, sniffing anything. I was so out of control I guess the girl called Khloé. And the clan pulled up, like the A-Team, and out of love they took me right to the rehab.” The story points to how supportive the KarJenners were despite Lamar's cheating and drug use.

The NBA champion admits it was his first time in rehab, and it was all thanks to the KarJenner family. Despite the "extreme love" they showed him, he admitted that he experienced a few more "rock bottom" moments before deciding to turn his life around. After Lamar recovered from his near-fatal overdose, Khloe from KUWTK refiled for divorce and had their split finalized in 2016. She moved on with Tristan Thompson. Lamar has continued to express his love for his ex-wife. Most recently, Tristan ignited a mini social media spat with Lamar on social media, after Lamar left a flirty comment on Khloe's bikini pic.

Khloe reportedly had a good laugh over the ordeal, considering how both exes lost her due to their cheating. Khloe is still adjusting to single life amid her recent breakup with Tristan while shutting down rumors that she is taking him back. Lamar might still be hopeful of winning Khloe back, even though sources for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said it will never happen. Lamar explained why he's so open about his journey to sobriety in the hopes of helping others who are living with addiction issues.
