The Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion gave viewers a new and unedited version of the famous family, and we are here to explain why some fans think they need to check their privilege. With the reunion being their first and only out of 20 seasons, it was the first time longtime fans got a chance to hear their responses to some hard-hitting questions. Kendall Jenner became a recent trending topic for an answer she gave. She'd been asked if she felt that her success was handed to her. It looks like many viewers think that the entire family needs to be more mindful of its privilege.

Over the years of her modeling career, Kendall has dealt with criticism from veteran supermodels like Naomi Campbell, as well as the public. Whether she's called out for not being a good model or having received an easy ticket to fame and fortune, Kendall's success as a model is often debated. During the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion, Kendall explained how much of a hard worker she is and talked about the effort that she put into becoming a successful model. "I went to every single casting and ran all over not only New York City but all over Europe trying to get a job and make my way," she told host Andy Cohen. However, once the clip made its rounds on social media, many called her out for not acknowledging her privilege, which allowed her to travel across the world to attend castings.

One onlooker took to the conversation to Redditsaying, "Kendall is trending on Twitter for not realizing her own privilege of being a nepotism baby." Many joined the conversation, agreeing that Kendall and her family can come off as dismissive regarding acknowledging that they're part of the one percent. The Kar-Jenners faced public backlash throughout the COVID-19 pandemic for enjoying lavish vacations while the rest of the world was forced into quarantine amid travel restrictions. During each incident, the family members either ignored the criticism or defended their actions. "It’s so embarrassing I’m convinced they live in an alternate reality," one Redditor said. "They will never ever acknowledge their privilege."

Another viewer called out the family's comments during the reunion, including Kim Kardashian's response to the family promoting an unattainable beauty standard. Kim's statements changed fans' view of her, and not in a good way. "In their reality their bodies don’t look that enhanced, no one can tell the got their faces chopped and screwed, they are all great “co-parents” & they are self-made billionaires. The delusional is real," one person said. During the reunion, each of the sisters who has a child or kids spoke highly of her baby daddy, even if her romance with that baby daddy had failed.

Another Reddit user brought the discussion back to Kendall and questioned her lack of accountability in acknowledging how her privilege helped her become a supermodel a lot faster than the average model. "I just don't understand why she doubled down on this. how hard would it have been to say like, yes I've worked hard but I am so grateful for the opportunities I've been given?" they asked, adding, "Have any of the K/J's ever directly acknowledged their privilege? like using the word "privilege"?"

With a two-part reunion, many would think viewers would have walked away with a more favorable opinion of the Kar-Jenners. However, it looks like many people were just turned off by the family completely. Maybe it's a good thing it was the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It will be interesting to see how well they do on Hulu.
