Keanu Reeves Upcoming Movies

Life is always better when Keanu Reeves is involved. Fortunately, he's got a lot of upcoming movies, TV shows and video games on the way in the next few years.

Keanu Reeves has been enjoying a massive renaissance period in his career recently. Helped by the runaway success of the John Wick franchise, Reeves has been put squarely back on audiences' radars. In the process, everybody's been reminded of the immense talent and range he possesses as an actor. In the past, he's been able to move from full-on action flicks like Speed and Point Break to sci-fi thrillers like The Matrix trilogy to dramas like The Lake House.

In the past couple of months alone, he's starred in John Wick 3: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and Always Be My Maybe, won E3, and is set to lend his voice to a Pixar film. But it's only going to get more intense from now. Here's every project Keanu Reeves will be starring in, from movies to TV to video games, in the coming years.

Toy Story 4 - 21 June, 2019

Reeves will make his Pixar debut on June 21, 2019 as Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4Trailers for Toy Story 4 reveal that Duke is one of Canada's most popular toys, a daredevil motorcycle stunt performer crafted in the image of famous stuntman Evil Knievel. Duke's official character description suggests his story will have a twinge of tragedy, with the toy unable to replicate the stunts advertised, leading to him being trapped in an antique store.

Reeves is one of the many newbies coming aboard for Toy Story 4 in addition to Christina Hendricks, Tony Hale, Jordan Peele, and Keegan Michael Key. This Toy Story installment will be the last one in the franchise, so hopefully, Reeves and Duke can help give it a proper send-off.

Cyberpunk 2077 - 16 April, 2020

Keanu Reeves Cyberpunk 2077

Microsoft's E3 presentation over the first weekend of June 2019 brought with it a new cinematic trailer for CD Projekt Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, which ended with a shock reveal of Keanu Reeves' character, Johnny Silverhand. In Cyberpunk 2077, Silverhand is part of a class of characters known as Rockerboys, the game's version of roving rebels and poets who clearly love going around and shaking things up. The trailer implies Silverhand can become an ally to the game's protagonist, V, during gameplay. The game itself is set in the futuristic Night City, a place where humans are obsessed with body modifications and where crime runs rampant.

Reeves' part in the presentation for Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 was almost as impactful as his appearance in the trailer. When one fan shouted out that Reeves was just as breathtaking as the visuals for Cyberpunk 2077, Keanu replied the fan - and the rest of the audience - was just as breathtaking. That fan got given a free copy of the game.

Bill & Ted Face the Music - August 21, 2020

Bill and Ted

On August 21, 2020, audiences are going on a little trip to San Dimas, California to join up with Bill Preston and Ted Logan, a.k.a. the Wyld Stallyns for Bill & Ted Face the Music. Reeves and his Bill & Ted co-star Alex Winter are reprising their iconic characters from the first two Bill & Ted films, and you can expect that the third film in this franchise is going to provide us with some hilarious updates on their lives. The synopsis describes Bill & Ted Face the Music as being about "two would-be rockers from San Dimas, California, were once told they'd save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, but find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfill their destiny." Sounds like Wyld Stallyns didn't go on to create the greatest music ever made.

In June, it was reported that Samara Weaving and Bridgette Lundy-Payne would be playing Bill and Ted's respective daughters. Filming has yet to begin but with the cast mostly lined up, we should get reports soon that it has.

John Wick 4 - May 21, 2021

Keanu Reeves as John Wick in John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum

WARNING: This section contains spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.

Shortly after John Wick Chapter 3 - Parabellum was released in May 2019, it was confirmed that John Wick would be back for more with John Wick 4. The next installment in the franchise is set to arrive in theaters on May 21, 2021. The confident confirmation of the next film's release date implies the ball is already rolling on development and Summit Entertainment is keen to capitalize on the franchise's popularity by getting it back into theaters as soon as possible.

Reeves will obviously reprise his role as the most hunted assassin in the world, John Wick. Parabellum focused on Wick trying to take out other contract killers looking to cash in on the bounty placed on his head after he was deemed "excommunicado" following the events of John Wick 2. With the ending of the third film revealing John Wick survived being shot by Winston (who did so as a way of regaining favor with the High Table) and now teamed with the Bowery King, John Wick 4 could see Reeves and Matrix co-star Lawrence Fishburne going up against Winston and the High Table in the most brutal showdown yet.

Reeves has also expressed an interest in starring in John Wick TV spinoff The Continental, which will explore the hotel syndicate when it's not dealing with its favorite customer.

Rally Car

Reeves' film Rally Car has been in production limbo for a few years now. As far back as 2017, Rally Car was greenlit but searching for a director, eventually landing on Taken 2 and Transporter 3 director Olivier Megaton. According to a 2017 report from The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves will be playing a former hot-shot NASCAR driver who finds himself in a rally car race in China.

There's no word yet on a release date, casting information, and it's unclear why there have been delays in moving forward with filming or distribution.

Rain

Keanu Reeves as John Wick in John Wick Chapter 2

Reeves is going to be staying in action mode with the television mini-series Rain, based on the books by Barry Eisler. Reeves will serve as the lead of the mini-series as well as one of the show's producers. He's playing John Rain, a half-Japanese, half-American contract assassin whose specialty is making it look like his targets died of natural causes. Reeves' co-stars include Cherry Jones (Wine Country), Corbin Reid (2016's Blair Witch), and Owen Kline (The Squid and the Whale).

Past Midnight

Keanu Reeves in Always Be My Maybe

Reeves is set to return to Netflix for Dope director Rick Famuyiwa's upcoming film Past Midnight. The script will be written by T.J. Fixman (Ratchet & Clank) and produced by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Past Midnight sounds like a return to familiar territory for Reeves and entirely new territory for Famuyiwa: "a feature about a new kind of vigilante superhero." There are no further details on casting or Reeves' character but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on Past Midnight.
