Fans can now get a taste of how Keanu Reeves would look as Moon Knight, courtesy of some new fan art. Created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, the character first appeared in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32. Though he debuted as a supporting villain, he was well-received and quickly retconned into a hero. He has thus far only appeared in animation, video games, and a recent fan film.

Marvel recently announced their slate of upcoming Phase 4 movies and teased even more already being prepared for Phase 5 - including Blade. Unfortunately, Moon Knight was not among them. Fans, however, have clamored to see the character of Marc Spector (as he is otherwise known) realized on the big screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For a time, there was some expectation he might appear in one of the Marvel/Netflix shows, potentially setting up a spinoff similar to The Punisher. With all of those shows officially being canceled, however, hope turned back to one day seeing him officially within the MCU. Most recently, The Russo Brothers, who directed Avengers: Endgame, offered their thoughts on Reeves in the role.

Renowned digital artist, BossLogic, evidently agrees with them. Posting on his Instagram, he offered fans a glimpse of how Reeves would actually look in the infamous white costume. The results are pretty breathtaking, showcasing Moon Knight both in and out of the mask. As well as this, he also teases the haunted nature of the character by having the opposing image looming behind the one on the foreground - potentially as a nod to the character's Dissociative Identity Disorder from the comics. Check out both images below:

Having already become part of the Disney family thanks to a scene-stealing turn as Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4, it's no secret that Kevin Feige has been trying to get Reeves into the MCU for some time now. He was previously set to play Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel, before dropping out due to scheduling conflicts. For a while, it was rumored that he would be part of The Eternals. Based on the casting announcements revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, however, that doesn't appear to be the case. Equally, Reeves once expressed interest in playing Wolverine. Fans, meanwhile, are now already latching onto the idea of Reeves as Moon Knight. As such, the above images are only going to make fans' desire even more passionate.

Reeves taking on the role of Marc Spector makes a lot of sense. The actor has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years. A large part of that is due to the John Wick franchise, within which Reeves performs the majority of his action and fight scenes. As such, he definitely has the skills to pull a character who was once a renowned mercenary. Equally, Moon Knight is commonly associated with vengeance, something Reeves himself embodies the personification of when playing John Wick.  His recent scene-stealing cameo in Always Be My Maybe also revealed that he has more range and facets to his performances that are rarely tapped into.

With Blade scheduled for Phase 5 and Ryan Reynolds potentially teasing a new Deadpool for around that time, it could be that Marvel is looking to bring some of its more R-rated characters to the fold. Whether the movies themselves will be as such is another question entirely. Either way, Moon Knight would be a good fit alongside those characters. And should any plans come to fruition, many clearly believe this could be the perfect role for Reeves.
