Hitting the big 4-0 is a pretty big milestone, and luckily for Bloom, Katy Perry was on the case to make his birthday a mighty memorable one.
To help ring in his 40th in January 2017, Perry organized an exclusive party in Palm Springs, inviting all of Orlando’s nearest and dearest to celebrate his big day in style. One of the highlights for Orlando was seeing his mother there for the festivities, who’d been flown in by Perry especially for the event.
Of course, no event thrown by Katy Perry would be complete without some weird and wonderful details, so the guests were encouraged to wear onesies with close-up pictures Bloom’s face all over them. Social media is great for following people you care about and getting a sneak-peek into strangers’ lives, but it seems that Perry and Bloom have also been using it as a very public platform to exchange flirtatious witticisms and dole out some pieces of truth.
If pictures and speculation weren’t enough to make everyone think Perry and Bloom were back on, then the fact that they’ve been openly commenting on and liking each other’s social media posts could be a big flag indicating the couple are once more romantically involved.

While spilling the truth about the performances of your previous partners might sound like a great way to spend a night in with friends over some junk food, getting real about how your past lovers compare to each other can be pretty awkward when put on the spot about it in public.
One of the ways in which Katy Perry promoted her album “Witness” was by live streaming herself, and at one point James Corden tagged along to see if she’s dish some scoop about her private life.
Being the cheeky talk show host that he is, Corden asked Perry: “This is working on the notion that they’re all good, rank Diplo, John Mayer and Orlando Bloom.” Talk about an awkward question there. Unsurprisingly, Katy Perry was taken aback by the question and was very reluctant to give Corden any kind of answer.
However, Corden pressed the singer to give some kind of answer, and eventually Katy kid of dodged the bullet by bringing in a completely different man into the mix, saying that Josh Groban was actually the best, and that her song “The One That Got Away” was in reference to him.
Even though this was a completely fair, and honestly very open answer from Perry, Corden still wasn’t satisfied and pushed the singer to answer his initial question. Finally, Katy gave in, conceding that Diplo was in third place, followed by Bloom, then Mayer.
Relationship Status: It's Complicated
As we’ve seen, Perry and Bloom have shared a close relationship even when they’re not apparently officially dating, as the two have been spotted vacationing with each other, flirting over social media, and being snapped in pictures together.
It’s clear that the two celebs care a lot for one another, but while we might be speculating over whether or not they’re officially an item, the truth is the two have yet to confirm or deny a romantic relationship with one another.
A source close to the couple told E! News that Bloom and Perry “talk all the time” and went on to add that “They haven't called each other boyfriend or girlfriend yet but it's [kind of] known to their close circle."
It sounds like the couple are just trying to keep things on the down-low, which was confirmed by another source when speaking to People: “They are dating, but not necessarily putting a label on it. They are not girlfriend and boyfriend. They do seem very happy together though. Orlando always had the nicest things to say about Katy. He loves spending time with her.”
