Kate Beckinsale spent four movies and a decade-plus playing vampire death dealer Selene in the Underworld franchise, but here's what she's done since. A British actress, Beckinsale has been performing in both movies and TV since the early 1990s, but it wasn't until she played a leading role in Michael Bay's 2002 blockbuster Pearl Harbor, and then landed Underworld in 2003, that she started to become a household name. While Pearl Harbor was hated by critics, it made big bucks, and no doubt introduced Beckinsale to many moviegoers.

During her long stint playing Selene in the Underworld movies, Beckinsale also appeared in many other high-profile films, including alongside Hugh Jackman in Van Helsing, Adam Sandler in Click, and Colin Farrell in the 2012 remake of Total Recall. She also starred in the 2016 horror film The Disappointments Room, and that year earned praise for her work in the Jane Austen-based comedy Love & Friendship. That's one thing Beckinsale has kept up with, starring in smaller-scale comedies and dramas alongside her blockbuster work.

Underworld Blood Wars - Kate Beckinsale as Selene

In 2017, the year after Underworld released its final entry to date, Beckinsale booked a voice role as Queen Ayrenn in the Morrowind expansion of the popular MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. That same year she also played Johanna in the drama The Only Living Boy in New York, the younger mistress of the main character's father, who ends up sleeping with him as well. Jeff Bridges and Pierce Brosnan also star. Beckinsale then appeared in 2018 racial drama Farming, written and directed by Lost actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and based partially on his real life.

Farming sees a young Nigerian boy sent by his parents to live with a white family in London in the hopes that it'll improve his lot in life, and future prospects. Instead, he ends up joining a white supremacist gang. Beckinsale plays Ingrid Carpenter, the working class foster mother who takes him in. In 2019, Beckinsale fronted the British drama series The Widow, which aired on ITV in the UK and elsewhere via Amazon Prime. She plays a woman named Georgia Wells who comes to believe her husband Will faked his death. Kate Beckinsale will next star in Jolt, an action movie in which she portrays Lindy, a bouncer with an anger problem who embarks on a roaring rampage of revenge when her beloved is murdered.
