In honor of the show’s one-year anniversary, WandaVision star Kat Dennings shares a funny wardrobe malfunction set photo. With twenty-three Emmy nominations, WandaVision, Marvel Studios’ first live-action series on Disney+, set a high bar for what was an impressive line-up of shows last year. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Jac Schaeffer’s miniseries saw Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) create an idyllic sitcom-esque reality in a subconscious attempt to be with her lost love, Vision (Paul Bettany). WandaVision also starred Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Randall Park, and Kat Dennings.

The return of Darcy Lewis (Dennings) was one of the series’ many surprises. Jane Foster’s (Natalie Portman) deadpan intern/political science student first appeared in Thor (2011) before reprising her role in Thor: The Dark World (2013). Fans hadn’t seen the character since until she made her Disney+ debut. WandaVision episode 4 saw Darcy brought in as a specialist to help SWORD’s Monica Rambeau (Parris) and FBI Agent/aspiring magician Jimmy Woo (Park) make sense of the series' mysterious Hex.

January 15th marked one year since WandaVision’s first two episodes became available on Disney+, and many have been celebrating the show’s anniversary online. For example, Dennings recently took social media to share a funny behind-the-scenes photo. Apparently, the actress had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction while filming in her circus outfit. Dennings has talked about how excited she was when she got the call to make her MCU comeback and how she’s down to return as Darcy in future projects. However, Dennings is not set to be a part of Thor: Love and Thunder—which will release in theaters later this year. Though Dennings did voice Darcy in an episode of Disney+’s What If…? (in which she married Howard the Duck) and loves the idea of a Darcy and Jimmy Woo spinoff. Following the pair’s appearance in WandaVision, their scene-stealing dynamic resulted in a viral idea of the duo getting an X-Files-esque spin-off series that circulated around social media.

WandaVision set the stage for a lot of MCU characters' future stories. Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda/Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will see its titular character seek her assistance to solve multiversal problems. On top of that, a WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: House of Harkness, starring Hahn is also in development and Parris will return as Monica Rambeau in The Marvels. Given everything that’s going on in the MCU, it wouldn’t make sense not to include Dennings given her inimitable sense of humor and popularity as a surrogate for the audience.
