For the first time since they started dating, Travis Barker has opened up about his new relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. After numerous speculations, Travis and Kourtney made their relationship official on Instagram after they spent Valentine's Day together. Travis has been good friends with the Kardashian family for quite some time as he has even been seen on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in the past. Now, he is revealing how he and Kourtney make their relationship work.
Rumors began speculating that Kourtney and Travis were dating back in January. While the two continued to stay quiet regarding their new romance, fans continued to put together bits and pieces of their relationship as they began to be spotted together. After spending a cozy night in together on Valentine's Day, Kourtney and Travis finally confirmed their new relationship on social media. Since going public, fans have been loving this new match up.
Travis and Kourtney may actually have their kids to thank for their relationship. In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Travis explained that his relationship with Kourtney comes easy due to the fact they both have kids. In a past episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney explained that she and Travis were quite close due to the fact their kids were good friends. Travis would occasionally bring his kids to Kourtney's home for playdates since they live in the same neighborhood. Kourtney and ex Scott Disick share their three kids, Mason, Penelope and Reign, while Travis and his ex wife share their two kids, Landon, who is 17 years old and Alabama, who is 15 years old.
In the past, both Travis and Kourtney have dated people who did not have kids of their own. Travis admitted that this difference affected his past relationships with women who did not have children. Some of these women would constantly question why Travis did not want to spend every day and night with them. They did not understand that he needed to give his kids attention as well. Now, he is dating someone who understands what it is like to be a parent while also dating. Travis described Kourtney as being "a great mom." He went on to say, "I really like missing someone and cherishing the time I get to spend with them." This was very important to Travis in the beginning of their relationship because he does not like to be with someone every minute of every day.
It seems to be quite obvious that Travis and Kourtney are head over heels for each other. While some may find it to be an odd pairing, the two have not only been friends for years; they also have a lot in common. Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans know that Kourtney's kids will always be her first priority. Now, she is in a relationship with someone who understands and accepts her priorities as he feels the same way.
