Hulu's The Kardashians series will get a major marketing boost from the 2022 Oscars ceremony telecast as Disney doubles down on brand synergy among all of its networks and streaming services. With the Kardashian-Jenner family ending its E! run of Keeping Up With The Kardashians after 14 years and 20 seasons, fans thought that the clan was finally moving away from reality TV for good. At least, that was the initial impression left by the famous family.

But after grieving the end of KUWTK all over social media for many months, the Kardashian-Jenner clan announced that it inked a deal for a brand-new reality series on Hulu, which has now been officially titled The Kardashians. The entire family is set to return to TV with this new show, as well as their current and former significant others. Given the turbulent years that 2020 and 2021 have been for the Kardashian-Jenners, there will be no shortage of dramatic content for the upcoming Hulu series to showcase.

According to an exclusive report by Variety, Disney-owned ABC will take advantage of its Oscars 2022 telecast to promote some of the top-priority new shows from the entertainment conglomerate. One of those biggest priorities is The Kardashians, which is reportedly going to be highly advertised during the commercial breaks during the Oscars 2022. Other projects that will be prioritized include ABC's American Idol and Abbott Elementary, as well as Hulu's scripted drama The Dropout starring Amanda Seyfried. It was to be expected that Disney would use its telecast of the Academy Awards to promote its films and scripted shows, but it seems like The Kardashians will also be prioritized in this brand synergy strategy.

The Kardashians to get marketing boost at the Oscars 2022

With a premiere date set for Thursday, April 14, reality TV fans are closer than ever to get their first peek at The Kardashians. For casual viewers, this might feel like a natural continuation of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians series. On the other hand, the trailers and teasers for the Hulu series are promoting what seems to be a very different show from KUWTK. On this new project, it appears that the Kardashian-Jenner sisters will be more regularly featured as businesswomen rather than just rich sisters having petty drama amongst themselves. In the trailer, Kim Kardashian is shown working on her various companies, Kylie Jenner is seen running Kylie Cosmetics, and Kendall Jenner is featured during some of her high-profile fashion photoshoots.

It's interesting that The Kardashians will get a marketing boost during the Oscars telecast given the type of viewer that typically tunes in to watch an awards ceremony. With that said, this is an incredibly prestigious award show, so placing ads for The Kardashians around the telecast might be a way to associate this new reality show with high-brow content. In any case, expect to see the Kardashian-Jenners sisters on your TV if you tune in to watch the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27.
