The Keeping Up With the Kardashians audience has Kendall Jenner's back. Fans on Reddit have come to Kendall's defense following Caitlyn Jenner's recent interview, during which she named Kendall's younger sister, Kylie Jenner, as her favorite child. During her interview with The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Caitlyn explained that her relationship with Kylie is much closer due to the fact that Kylie is more of an open book, whereas Kendall keeps to herself.
When Keeping Up With the Kardashians first started 15 years ago, Caitlyn Jenner was a prominent character on the show as the father figure in the family. She starred alongside the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family for the majority of the show. After 23 years of marriage and two daughters together, Caitlyn and Kris Jenner divorced in 2015. Drama surrounded the famous family following both the divorce and Caitlyn's transition. Caitlyn slowly began to disappear from the show as the family's individual relationships with her became strained. Despite working through many of their issues, things are never drama-free for the Kardashians for long. Most recently, fans were shocked when Caitlyn actually had kind things to say about her ex, Kris Jenner.
Kylie Jenner may be Caitlyn Jenner's favorite, but KUWTK fans have Kendall's back. Reddit users came to Kendall's defense following Caitlyn's recent interview comparing her relationships with daughters Kendall and Kylie. In a lengthy post to the thread, a user included quotes from the interview before going into depth about why they feel bad for Kendall. They pointed out examples of Kendall defending her dad to the rest of her family, as well as times she admitted to feeling like Kylie was Caitlyn's favorite. They sympathized with Kendall, writing, "That must be so damaging to your mental health having your own father say about your sibling 'all the stars come together.'" While in any family it is neither the parent nor the child's fault that they have a closer relationship, it should not be thrown in the other children's face. Therefore, Caitlyn should not have openly spoken so highly about Kylie while speaking so lowly of Kendall in the next breath.
Numerous fans were quick to agree with the Reddit user, describing it as "unfair" to Kendall. Many recalled different occasions where Kendall was "gaslighted" for expressing how she felt. One of the scenarios mentioned was Kendall and Kylie's most recent fight over a dress while in Palm Springs. Users agreed it seems like the family tends to take Kylie's side because she is more successful. A comparison between Kendall and Kourtney was made, explaining they both have similar feelings and issues with their family. One wrote, "Their mental health issues are always played down and they are clearly the 'least favorite' kid (hate using that word) because they aren't an 'open book.'" Fans assume this is why Kendall and Kourtney seem to be so close.
Overall, fans weren't the slightest bit impressed by Caitlyn's interview. In fact, they questioned why she was doing an interview in the first place. While it is okay that Caitlyn has a closer relationship with Kylie, it is insensitive of her to speak so openly and publicly about the comparisons between the two relationships. It would not be surprising if Kendall began to distance herself even more from the family now that they are done filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
