Kanye West has taken to Twitter to make a variety of claims and accuse Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian of trying to "lock him up like on the movie Get Out." Kanye has been an active political figure for many years, but his involvement in politics took a surprising turn in 2016 when the left-leaning rapper openly supported President Donald Trump. Despite his support, Kanye started to talk about the possibility that he too would be a presidential candidate in 2020.

While it seemed unlikely that Kanye West would go through with his plans to run for president, he did file all of the necessary paperwork to enter the 2020 election. Political experts quickly pointed out that Kanye's candidacy could split the Black community and take votes from presidential candidate Joe Biden, thus clearing the path for Trump's reelection. Nonetheless, the rapper moved forward with his candidacy and held a campaign rally on Sunday, July 19. During the event, Kanye shared that he and then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian considered aborting their first child. A day later, Kanye took to Twitter to make a series of claims that involve Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Bill Cosby, Anna Wintour, and the NBCUniversal media conglomerate.

Kanye West started his series of tweets, saying that Kris Jenner and her boyfriend, who Kanye nicknamed "Calmye," were not allowed to be around his children, alleging that Kris had tried to "lock him up." Then, Kanye claimed that the 2017 horror film Get Out was presumably about his life with the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

Kanye West proceeded to allege that he had put his "life on the line" so that Kim Kardashian didn't have to sell her infamous sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J. The rapper also alluded to a possible Playboy spread offered to Kim at some point in time, seemingly claiming that he did not want their firstborn daughter to see a naked photograph of her mother. Then, Kanye says, "I'm at the ranch... come and get me," presumably addressing Kim Kardashian herself.

In the next tweets, Kanye West alludes to the fact that Kim Kardashian attempted to stage an intervention for him with the assistance of a doctor. Kanye then compares himself to Nelson Mandela, who was wrongfully imprisoned in 1962 due to his opposition to the South African government. Mandela was in prison for 27 years, and upon release, he led the negotiations that eventually put an end to apartheid in South Africa.

In a surprising turn, Kanye West then referenced Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, with whom he has maintained a public friendship for many years. In the tweet, Kanye claimed that Wintour did not approve of his deal with the Gap, but eventually came around it. Immediately after, Kanye addressed Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian directly, urging them to call him.

The next two tweets from Kanye West are related to the NBCUniversal conglomerate, which owns the E! network that airs Keeping Up with the Kardashians. First, Kanye seemingly claims that the reason he is separated from his family is that the network insists on recording the show in California. For context, Kanye has been residing in a Wyoming ranch for a few years now. In the following tweet, the rapper doubles down on his distaste of NBCUniversal, claiming that the media conglomerate was responsible for Bill Cosby's imprisonment. For context, The Cosby Show aired on NBC between 1984 and 1992. In 2018, Cosby was found guilty of sexual assault and sentenced to three to ten years in prison.

Kanye West's last two tweets of the day took place in the span of an hour. First, the rapper once again compared his situation once again to the movie Get Out and accused Kim Kardashian of attempting to fly to Wyoming with a doctor in order to presumably stage a medical intervention for her husband. Then, Kanye also claimed that this was all happening after his statement that he and Kim considered aborting their first child. An hour later, the rapper declared that he was going to focus on music for the time being. For context, Kanye has an album release scheduled for July 24. The album is titled Donda, which is his mother's name.

There's no way of knowing if Kanye West will keep tweeting more accusations concerning the stars of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It is also unclear if these claims will ever be confirmed or denied by Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, or a spokesperson for the family. Nonetheless, it is fair to say that Kanye's presidential campaign has started with the wrong foot.
