Kanye West has announced his bid for the presidency, and the world can only assume that this is true. There is a question of how this will affect him and Kim Kardashian's social media presence on Instagram and other sites, as well as the show Keeping Up With the KardashiansFans and viewers can be very fickle, especially when celebrities' decisions affect their personal lives.

West and Kim have been married since 2014, and have several kids together. Kim has expressed concern about Kanye overstressing himself and risking health problems unless he slows down. What's more, social media will roast him if he's not being a helpful dad or husband. The pandemic has been hard enough for his family. It is likely that Kim may not be impressed by this choice as it invites more negative than positive scrutiny to the Kardashian brand. She wants to maintain her financial status but can afford financing the campaign.

West tweeted with the hashtag #2020VISION that he would be running against the current candidates. It is currently unknown for which party he would be running - Republican, Democrat or independent. He also is going back on his previous announcement that he would run in 2024. West has been talking with established Republicans, so it is unknown if this is another publicity stunt to either distract from current tragedies or promote a new album.

If West has any sense, he will realize that running for any party will invite unwanted scrutiny. Beloved viewers are one thing, as is Forbes, but political analysts are quite another. Kylie Jenner is already facing heat for forging documents. Any opponents will use his social media and personal life to attack him, which can only prove emotionally exhausting for the family. Even celebrities will throw shade if you mess up, especially when you deserve it.

West needs to tread carefully. He can still retract his announcement and he should, to protect his kids. If he does run, however, he needs to prepare for the storm. Instagram is one thing, but Twitter trolls are quite another. Joe Biden and Donald Trump are currently entrenched in a already heated presidential race. Kanye has expressed support for Trump in the past, donning a Make America Great Again hat that has become symbolic with hate and racial oppression and even visiting the Oval Office. He has since gradually begun to distance himself from Trump. Did he actually have a change of heart, or was he just planning a campaign to unseat the embattled incumbent? We'll find out as the story of Kanye's presidential bid continues to unfold - or simply just folds altogether.
