After Kim Kardashian was granted single status, Kanye West's lawyer is shutting down the "mistruths" of The Kardashians star's divorce. Kim went back to her maiden name and had her single status restored on Wednesday following a court hearing. Kanye didn't appear for the video appearance as Kim did, but his lawyer is still speaking out against the judge's ruling. Apparently, Kanye had his fourth divorce lawyer release a statement to confirm his approval of the divorce.
Kim has been trying to separate herself from Kanye after filing the petition last February. The latest hearing came after Kim's second request to become legally single. In December, Kim made the filing one day after Kanye begged her to "run back" to him in front of a live audience. That plea came after a series of attempts Kanye made during interviews and on social media to get Kim back. But she continued dating Pete Davidson. At the start of the year, Kim and Pete enjoyed their first romantic getaway which upset Kanye. He tried rebounding with model Julia Fox while continuing to profess his love for Kim and bashing Pete on social media.
Now that a judge has declared Kim legally single, Kanye's fourth divorce lawyer Samantha Spector released a statement "to dispel a few mistruths” surrounding the recent hearing. “Kanye’s paperwork has always indicated that his problems with the divorce [were] only procedural,” a statement to Us Weekly claimed. The lawyer went on to claim that Kanye was “always in support of the divorce only if Kim satisfied the procedural requirements to protect rights under the [California] law" The lawyer went on to cite that Kim failed to have the proper paperwork to dissolve the marriage but now that it is over, “Ye is focusing his entire attention to their children.”
The statement reflects a change in tone to all of the erratic social media posts Kanye sent out letting his followers know how much he wants Kim back. In one photo of Kim's recent magazine spread with their kids, Kanye reposted the photo professing how much he wants his family back. Kanye has also nicknamed Kim's boyfriend "Skete" while berating the SNL star online. In one post, Kanye encouraged his fans to confront Pete and tell him "Kimye forever." His social media posts reflect an entirely different response to Kim's divorce filing than the statement his new lawyer sent out.
Kanye appears to now want everyone to think he's been okay with the divorce and is also moving on like Kim. It comes as Kanye dates another pretty woman in a series of rebound partners he's entertained since last year. Kanye is known to move by the beat of his own drum. The rap/fashion mogul appears to finally be on board with the divorce and possibly won't be bothering Kim on social media anymore. As for Kanye's beef with The Kardashians star's boyfriend Pete, that is still going strong.
