This week, some reports seemed to indicate that the rapper and presidential candidate skipped out on his wife's party to honor certain business and media engagements.
On October 21, 2020, Kim Kardashian turned 40 years old and, to celebrate, she threw a lavish birthday party at a private island with some of her closest friends. All week long, there were several celebrations that honored Kim's big birthday. For instance, E! did a special marathon of KUWTK with some of Kim's most memorable episodes on the show. Her siblings and close friends also posted sweet birthday messages on social media.
Per Us Weekly, Kanye West spent most of Kim Kardashian's birthday celebration with her, but arrived late to the party due to certain commitments that included an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Their three-hour conversation on the podcast covered topics such as Kanye's current and future political plans, his family, and his music career. Both Joe and Kanye were extremely excited to speak to each other. Joe even hyped up the interview to his listeners: "[It’s] beyond my expectations, and I think people are going to have a much better understanding and appreciation of how this man thinks." Kanye told Joe Rogan during the taping, "You know, it’s like the movie. This part, us talking right now, may be a scene from my life’s movie."
Shortly after Kanye arrived at the island celebration, he was photographed riding a bike alongside Kourtney Kardashian as she took a leisurely stroll. He redeemed himself by gifting his wife with an animated hologram of her late father, Robert Kardashian. Kim then took to social media to thank Kanye for the gift. All in all, Kim said that she felt blessed to pull off the perfect party: “I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40.”
After careful examination of the facts, it's clear that Kanye West likely did not skip Kim's island birthday party. He was, indeed, there for most of it. Moreover, he took the time to present her with the hologram of her late father, which was an unexpected gift that Kim seemed to appreciate greatly.
