Former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and rapper Kanye West moves on quickly when it comes to love. A few months after his divorce from Kim Kardashian, he began dating Irina Shayk, a Russian model and actress he has worked with in the past. The duo hasn’t publicly confirmed their relationship, but here’s a timeline of their romance so far.
In 2014, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got married. Following their romantic engagement at AT&T Stadium in San Francisco and their picturesque wedding in Europe, the couple raised four children together – North West, Saint West, Chicago West, and Psalm West. In 2020, things stopped going West for the celebrity power couple and began to go south. Kanye’s mental health wasn’t great, particularly when he started campaigning during the presidential election.
In early 2021, Kardashian and West confirmed their divorce, causing heartbreak for fans everywhere. The couple allegedly broke up over parenting differences, as well as Kanye's erratic behavior throughout his presidential campaign. Kanye met Irina many years ago during the “Power” music video shoot, where the model appears as one of the goddess figures. The music video was released in 2010. Trip to France
In early June, close to Kanye’s 44th birthday on June 8, West and Shayk were spotted together in France at Villa La Coste. “She seems smitten. He invited her to France and she happily accepted,” a source revealed. Considering that this was a few months after Kanye’s divorce from Kim, people wondered if there was any awkwardness. “Irina isn’t friends with Kim at all, so there’s no weirdness there,” an insider dished to People.
Irina Spotted with Ex
When Irina returned to New York City after the trip to Europe, she was spotted with Bradley Cooper, her ex with whom she shares a daughter, Lea. The pair dated from 2015 to 2019. “They seemed like a happy family spending time together,” an eyewitness told Glamour. “Bradley and Irina are not just on good terms as co-parents; they’re also close as friends and share personal things with each other.” Spending time with an ex might be concerning for Kanye, but it appears as though there wasn’t any funny business.
Cooling Off
Rumors emerged that West and Shayk were cooling off on July 13, as reported by Page Six. During their trip to France, Irina didn’t go to Paris with Kanye, which raised some eyebrows. “She doesn’t want the association that they are dating, which is what would have run in the press if she showed up [in Paris with Kanye],” a source close to the 35-year-old model said.
Rumors Shut Down
A few days after the rumors of their split emerged, Irina is reportedly upset about the “lies.” “Kanye went to Paris for the Balenciaga show to support Demna [Gvasalia]. He was in and out, only there for 3 hours,” a source told People. “They are very much still dating… They will date long distance.” The rap star-model duo has not officially confirmed their relationship, but they’re obviously interested in each other.
