Kanye West’s distaste for Pete Davidson is endless as he just released a second music video for “Eazy,” in which he yet again attacks his ex-wife and The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian's new boyfriend. Kanye released the diss track, in which the rapper verbally threatens to “kick Pete Davidson’s ***” in January and has since posted numerous complaints about the comedian on social media. Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 after the pair suffered through “irreconcilable difference” for many months prior. Kanye’s behavior online has caused a schism with Kim, beginning after her announced she was romantically involved with The King of Staten Island actor after hosting Saturday Night Live in November 2021.

Initially, Kanye and Kim amicably co-parented their four children--North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm--but complications over parenting and Kim romantically moving on have led to Kanye publicly lashing out. Originally, Kim hoped for a low-key divorce proceeding, but Kanye has been far from discreet. While originally the “Donda” rapper restricted his complaints to parental disagreements, Kanye’s anger quickly shifted toward Kim’s new partner. Referring to Pete as “Skete” and making numerous rude remarks about the comic online, Kanye’s comments only became more threatening over time, causing Kim to release a statement insisting that her ex-husband back off. Kim filed a declaration to be legally single in December 2021, later expediting the request by citing the social media posts as “emotionally distressing” for her and the family. After the former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star’s request was approved, Kim and Kanye became legally single on March 2.

The fun never ends for Kanye as he released a second “Eazy” music video, this one in animation form, in which Pete is physically assaulted. As posted by fellow rapper The Game on YouTube, the second video features a bloodied monkey beating an animated Pete to the ground as the comic wears a sweatshirt with “Skete” on the front. While blatantly violent, the second video comes as a slight alleviation in violence compared to the first video. The original video depicted an animated Kanye kidnapping, burying and decapitating Pete. The last frame of the video read, “EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO. JK, HE’S FINE.” As of this writing, neither Kim nor Pete have responded to either music video or the harmful depictions.

Kanye has received widespread criticism for his behavior surrounding his divorce. That hasn’t deterred the rapper from posting his complaints about the reality star moving on from their marriage. After the initial controversy over the first "Eazy" music video, Kanye shared an Instagram post saying that his art doesn't mean he wishes harm on anybody. Kim has been vocal about wishing that Kanye would cooperate with the separation, especially since the rapper fired four different divorce attorneys over the course of the past year. Amid the chaos, Pete has been handling the situation gracefully, reportedly amused by Kanye’s music video.

Art is subjective, but Kanye’s publicized criticism toward his ex-wife and her new boyfriend is objectively ludicrous. Any divorce is difficult, but the stress experienced on both ends of this conflict seems to be perpetuated by Kanye’s conduct and publicized condemnation of Kim and Pete. Those looking forward to the release of The Kardashians will likely learn more about the feud once the new Hulu show airs. Despite the rapper initially wishing to win Kim back for the sake of raising their children, he continues to thwart those efforts by posting troubling commentary online. While Kanye may dream of Pete ending up in the ground, Kanye is only digging his own grave deeper with these actions.
