Kang's Search For Heroes May Lead Him Directly To The Avengers

While Kang the Conqueror leading the Avengers might seem farfetched, with his pursuit of the Missing Moment, joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes might be his only way to attain his greatest prize. Since Tribulation Events can only be met by heroes, Kang assembling his own group of heroes as he figures out how to be a hero himself teases a new future for the longtime villain.

Kang Teases He Will Lead The Avengers - Timeless

Can Kang become a hero in the Marvel Universe? That remains to be seen, but versions of the time-traveling villain have taken on heroic roles before, such as Iron Lad with the Young Avengers. However, convincing the Avengers he's worthy of becoming a hero and a trusted team member would be incredibly difficult, especially given his history fighting Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Putting Kang on the Avengers would represent a significant status quo change for the superteam, as their current Multiversal adventures have dragged on and show a total reset is much-needed. Kang becoming a hero would be a shocking transformation for the villain, even if his search for the Missing Moment is rooted in his selfish desires for the Multiverse's ultimate prize. If Marvel wants to enter 2023 in the boldest way possible, Kang the Conqueror joining the Avengers would definitely be a wild storytelling swing.
