Kandi & the Gang just premiered to rave reviews on Bravo, and some fans believe the newest series is set to replace Vanderpump Rules as the go-to restaurant show. Kandi has been known for her ventures into successful businesses, including an intimate toy line and multiple restaurants. Fans will finally get to see the secrets behind her famous Old Lady Gang as cameras catch all the drama.

In May 2021, Bravo announced a new spinoff series focusing on Kandi from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The singer has always had a strong relationship with the network, who has approached her multiple times to work together on spinoffs. As RHOA fans know, Kandi has her own entity aptly named Kandi Coated Entertainment. Throughout her years, she has filmed Kandi Factory, Kandi's Wedding, and Kandi's Ski Trip on the Bravo network. Now she is ready to put her family business and fun-loving aunts on the small screen in hopes of winning herself another successful show.

Whatever Kandi touches usually turns to gold. Whether it is her Grammy Award-winning songs for *NSYNC or her popular adult toy line, the singer always knows which horse to bet on. Now with the release of Kandi & the Gang, fans will see Kandi explore the life of a restaurateur. Upon its premiere, fans immediately compared the show to Vanderpump Rules, and honestly, there was no comparison. Kandi's OLG workers still had drama but noticeably lacking was a snarky bartender turned villain (Jax Taylor) and a plethora of petty Los Angeles-type problems. The eatery is housed in an Atlanta neighborhood, Castleberry Hill, that helps breathe life into the show.

Vanderpump Rules Cast

Vanderpump Rules has had a laundry list of issues in the past two seasons. A handful of staff, including Jax, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristin Doute, were fired for the racist and sexist comments toward other co-stars. The once-popular Bravo show was also put on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. When Vanderpump Rules returned for season 9, the premise just wasn't the same, and the show had clearly lost a bit of steam. While the series remains up in the air, Kandi & the Gang are wasting no time making Bravo their home. It also helps that Kandi's new series shows a bit more diversity, including spotlighting the LGBTQ+ community.

Now, there is no telling how future episodes will be embraced, but the premiere of Kandi & the Gang is a good indicator that the show may be here to stay. Thanks to Kandi's contagious laugh and her family's willingness to share their recipes, the show is already being hailed as a major hit. Lisa Vanderpump may want to take a few notes on how to up her TV game as she tries her best to lure back fans to her goat cheese balls, but right now, it seems that viewers have a hankering for some Southern cuisine.
