The latest episode of The Hills: New Beginnings reveals that Kaitlynn Carter and Brody Jenner couldn't agree on when they want kids. The two were on different pages about starting a family. This new information sheds some light on some of the conflicts that led to their split.
Brody, one of the OG The Hills stars, brought then-wife Kaitlynn into the franchise this year when the show was rebooted after 10 years. The Hills: New Beginnings brought back some of the old favorites from the original. Kaitlynn, a fashion blogger, and Brody were together since 2014 before deciding to "marry" in Indonesia in June of 2018, (although it wasn't a legally binding wedding as there was no actual marriage certificate involved) and now fans are watching their relationship fall apart on The Hills. After five years together, and one year of "marriage," the stars officially called it quits. Weeks after the split, Kaitlynn was spotted vacationing in Italy with pop-star Miley Cyrus (after her split with Liam Hemsworth.) Miley and Kaitlynn were photographed making out on a boat on Lake Como and then later together in Los Angeles, while Brody has appeared to start moving on with Victoria's Secret model Josie Canseco.
On The Hills: New Beginnings, the then-couple go to an OBGYN in order to talk about fertility and their future. Kaitlynn starts off by telling the doctor, "Brody and I got married in June. I turned 30, so we’re just kind of at this point in our life where we’re starting to talk about having kids." She goes on to explain that she is nervous about waiting, saying, "I think part of it is I’m a little bit stressed with getting older with what it will be like realistically if we wait longer to have kids." Meanwhile, 35-year-old Brody expresses to the doctor that he "doesn't mind waiting" for kids because he felt their marriage is still too new.
The doctor suggested that they do some tests on Kaitlynn to see the viability of her eggs and to see how long she has left so that they can work within their own timeframe. Kaitlynn talked candidly about what she thinks about Brody not wanting kids right away, and how she does, saying, "I think Brody and I are on different pages." She then went on to explain that she gets the sense that Brody wants kids eventually, but not as soon as she does. She mentioned the fact that Brody keeps saying he could see them having kids "within the next year." However, that seemed to have been the case for a while, and Kaitlynn added, "How many years are we going to say this?" She believes there will never be the perfect time to have children and Brody couldn't disagree more.
Viewers can now see the conflict that led up to Brody and Kaitlynn's split on The Hills: New Beginnings. The remaining episodes of this season will continue to reveal more details about their relationship and provide insight and context for their split. The couple who could never agree on when to have kids can now find the right people with whom they can be on the same page. Whether or not it will be the same people they moved on with remains to be seen.
