A new TV spot for Zack Snyder's Justice League shows Darkseid using his Omega Beams. Ever since Zack Snyder started teasing that his cut of Justice League existed in some form, there has been a clear emphasis put on how different it is from the 2017 theatrical cut. This included revealing Superman wears the black suit, different character designs and storylines, and the abundance of characters who were cut out. All of this and more will finally be seen in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, including the debut of Darkseid.

Although Darkseid isn't the main villain of Zack Snyder's Justice League, the director did have plans for him to appear in a supporting capacity. Over the last three-plus years, Snyder and official marketing materials for the Snyder Cut have teased exactly what his role is. It has long been known a young version of Darkseid, known as Uxas, will lead the invasion of Earth featured in the history lesson sequence. Footage from Zack Snyder's Justice League has since shown him on Apokolips and speaking to Steppenwolf.

In a new TV spot for Zack Snyder's Justice League shared on Twitter by @drw_1702, Darkseid is featured using his Omega Beams. He is shown shooting Omega Beams from his eyes around the 19-20 second mark in the footage. Darkseid's Omega Beams draw power from the source of his power, the Omega Effect, and can lock onto a target to ensure he destroys it. They're incredibly powerful and are shown here in an action set-piece featuring Darkseid underwater.

This new moment of Darkseid is sure to get fans talking. Not only is it the first time we've seen Darkseid use the Omega Beams, but it puts him in a brand new location. The villain has previously only been seen on Apokolips and on a decimated section of Earth as he tries to conquer it. Darkseid is shown fighting underwater here, and that could mean that he's currently in Atlantis. This doesn't totally line up with what is already known about Darkseid's role, which might signal there's even more of him than fans expect. That said, there's a chance this could be part of the history lesson sequence, and that it's bigger than previously imagined.

With this new shot of Darkseid, the anticipation for Zack Snyder's Justice League to drop on HBO Max will only continue to grow. The good news is that we are only a few days away from being able to see the movie in its four-hour, R-rated entirety. And if the marketing team is still sharing new footage of Darkseid and the film's third act, that hopefully is a sign that the Snyder Cut has several surprises in store.
