Jason Momoa was the first person to say he saw Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League, but apparently many people have seen it and say it's "amazing." The campaign for the Snyder Cut has been persistent since Joss Whedon's version hit theaters in November 2017, but it's really been since Momoa threw his hat into the ring that more cast and crew started to speak up.
Initially, there was debate about whether or not it existed, despite ample evidence to the contrary, but then Jason Momoa said he'd seen it, describing it as "ssssiiicccckkkkkk," and Snyder himself (on multiple occasions) confirmed it exists, Kevin Smith knows people who have seen it, and even HBO's Watchmen showrunner suggested he'd seen it back in November 2019 when the Snyder Cut trended #1 worldwide on Twitter.
Recently, Snyder teased he wanted to do even more additional photography, but with Hollywood is sort of on hold right now because of the coronavirus, so it's doubtful we'll learn much more about it in the immediate future, but that isn't stopping people from talking about it, and apparently it's still a hot topic of conversation with the Justice League cast and crew - Ben Affleck even said he wanted to help Snyder however he could in a recent interview.
Justice League's stunt coordinator, Eunice Huthart, spoke with Screen Rant during an interview for the home release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where she also served as stunt coordinator. When asked about the topic of the Snyder Cut, Huthart had a lot to say:
Yeah, there's a few questions about that, and I'm sure that I'm okay to say I officially know people who've seen the Snyder cut and said it's absolutely amazing. And I do believe that that's the movie we were making, Zack Snyder's version of the film. You know, with the heartache of what happened with his daughter, we pulled out [and did] the reshoots of it. So, the movie took a slightly different turn.
I watched the cinema release of the film, and I texted Zack to say, "What's this I'm hearing about this Snyder cut? I need to see it." And he did promise me next time I'm in LA, that I'll go watch it. So I will at some point, definitely go and watch the Snyder cut. And I have spoken to people who actually said it's brilliant. They said it's absolutely golden.
With the amount of buzz its been getting, especially recently, it shouldn't be a surprise that crew members like Huthart are texting Snyder to try to get a private screening of the now-legendary cut (the stunt crew seems to be especially big fans). Snyder's teases have been heating up recently, with his tease about adding additional scenes, he's also been teasing a new official title of Zack Snyder's Justice League. It's easy to assume something must be up, but any dealmaking that may or may not be taking place could be on hold until after the coronavirus has passed - especially if Snyder plans to shoot more material.
Nevertheless, the Snyder Cut is far further along than many other productions who saw production halted, so if there is any way to complete it and release it in the near future, it'll surely be a welcome boon to a Hollywood bottom line hurting from delays and cancelations. Even just as a carrot for HBO Max, the time to release the Snyder Cut has never been better (excluding its originally intended release date, of course).
