Zack Snyder thanks the Justice League fans who raised over $500,000 million for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Snyder helped kick off the DCEU with his 2013 film Man of Steel, and for years, he served as one of the franchise's primary architects. That's why fans were eager to see what he had in store for Justice League. However, Snyder left production halfway through following a family tragedy, when his daughter committed suicide. Joss Whedon was soon brought in to complete the film, though after Justice League's release, fans campaigned for the release of Snyder's version.

For the past three years, the #ReleasetheSnyderCut campaign took to social media, billboards, and everything in between to get the word out about Snyder's Justice League. However, there was more to fans' efforts than just calling on Warner Bros. to release the Snyder Cut. To raise awareness about the cut and show support for Snyder, fans raised money for the AFSP. At the start of this year, Justice League fans amassed over $150,000 for the organization, and Snyder sought to reach $500,000 months later.

Now, that milestone has been achieved. Snyder took to social media to thank those who contributed, writing, "This movement is so powerful." In addition to sharing a little graphic confirming Justice League fans' donations crossed $500,000, Snyder shared his gratitude by saying, "Thank you for all of your amazing fundraising efforts to support." This is hardly the first time Snyder has thanked fans, but that doesn't diminish his obvious appreciation. You can see his full post down below.

Now that $500,000 has been raised, one lucky fan will receive an authentic Justice League prop from Snyder himself. Snyder has long been a supporter of AFSP, even going so far as to create a personal fundraising campaign in honor of his daughter. This final total is both overwhelming and stunning to behold; this is an excellent example of the brilliant things fans can do when they come together. It's easy to dismiss the Snyder Cut movement as a group of rabid fans eager to get what they want, but that isn't the case at all. These are people who came together out of support for Snyder and have managed to do some genuine good.

Making things even better is the fact that the Snyder Cut of Justice League will soon see the light of day. Earlier this year, news broke that Zack Snyder's Justice League will stream exclusively on HBO Max next year, and Snyder recently confirmed it will debut in March. This is a huge win for fans and further proves just how powerful the Snyder Cut campaign has been. It's been a long time coming, yes, but both Snyder and the fans who love him can find some happiness in how things have shaken out.
