Justice League Behind-the-Scenes Photo: Wonder Woman is Ready for War

Justice League is not only one of the most highly anticipated superhero movies coming out in the next couple years, but one of the most anticipated films, period. For the first time, so many iconic characters are going to be sharing the screen in service of a common goal and with the potential to fight some of the most well known comic book villains that have ever been seen.

Close on the heels of Justice League is the hype for the immediate next DCEU film installment: Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot reprises her role as Diana of Themyscira in both movies after she was a standout character in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Her performance there engendering a lot of good will for her solo movie.

Today was Justice League director Zack Snyder's birthday and, in celebration, Gadot shared a picture of the two of them together on set. Wonder Woman looks ready to take down any foes from Man's World who may stand in her way wearing the same costume that fans have seen her in to date. For his part, Snyder appears to be carefully considering how to pull off the perfect shot. Take a look:

A very happy birthday @cruelfilms #zacksnyder !!!! This photo expresses how focused and centered we were on JL but doesn't show all the good laughs and great fun we had!!! Justice League will be the second time Snyder and Gadot have worked together, with their debut effort being the aforementioned Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Ben Affleck joins the pair reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman along with Henry Cavill making his third appearance as Clark Kent/Superman, despite the fact that he sacrificed himself to save the world at the end of the last movie. Rounding out the return performances is Amy Adams as Lois Lane, who will surely play an integral part in the return of Superman.

Gadot's photograph is nothing short of stunning. She looks amazing as Wonder Woman and Snyder appears hard at work to make Justice League everything it can be. Regardless of past criticisms, Snyder is a director with a strong visual eye. He makes good-looking movies with great effects and landmark scenes. If nothing else, this picture captures this sensibility of his as well as making everyone appear hard at work.

On the other hand, DCEU fans already know what Wonder Woman looks like. By the time Justice League premieres, she will have appeared in two feature films, including one of which she is the lead. Given that previous movies in the franchise have come under criticism, it may have been a better move to have one of the stars share something that would cement some new, small detail about the plot. Although, that could be difficult to do with a trailer yet to drop.
