Justice League: Wonder Woman, Aquaman & Cyborg Unite in New Image

A brand new Justice League emerges, featuring Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg ready to battle an unknown threat.

It's no secret that Warner Bros. has had a difficult time getting the DCEU off the ground. Despite the films being highly profitable, the reception for each has had diminishing returns. Man of SteelBatman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad all have their supporters, but their quality has been contentious among fans. WB is hoping that will all change for the better with Wonder Woman in the summer, with Justice League becoming the fulfillment of what many fans have been waiting for.

Justice League has largely held positive buzz since production got underway thanks to a renewed sense of optimism about the way the film was being handled. The first trailer was released very early to get more people on the hype train, and has since continued to see new pieces of the film through promotional pictures. Each has brought a new combination of the heroes together, the latest has Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg in a new location.

Games Radar (via Batman-News) has released a new photo (see below) from Justice League featuring the three aforementioned heroes in a location that does not appear to be of this world. This is the first photo from the film that features this particular trio. It begs the question - Where Batman and Flash (and the resurrected Superman) at this point in the film?

As will happen with any team, it should not be a surprise that the League splits up at some point in the film and has different tasks to accomplish. If this location is not of Earth - and potentially something that is connected to Steppenwolf - having Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg being the two to try and defeat him makes sense for the team. They are the three heaviest hitters (at least until Superman returns), so there would not be much of a need from Batman at this point.

While the location is not confirmed to involve the villain, it does have an alien nature to it, which if not connected to Steppenwolf, could be part of Superman's arc in the film. This could be the place he is taken to be resurrected, and the heroes are in battle position because they have to fight him or the villain. After all, the interior of this location and what appears to be frozen metal on the ground could point to this being a portion of Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Hopefully this becomes more clear as time progresses, but for now, this is a great picture of a moment that will surely get fans talking.
