A fan-made trailer mashes up Justice League with the X-Men movies. Justice League is now in theaters, properly introducing The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg properly to the DCEU after their brief cameos in Batman v Superman (with a second appearance by The Flash in Suicide Squad). While the movie has received mixed reviews and a lower than expected box office, the movie does take steps towards helping reshape the DCEU and setting up future movies.

Meanwhile, X-Men has continued to thrive in movie theaters for almost two decades now. With seven movies about the X-Men after Dark Phoenix; another three about Wolverine; spin-offs like Deadpool, the upcoming New Mutants, and Gambit; and TV shows with The Gifted and Legion. The franchise seems to be in pretty good shape. Even with no connection to the MCU, Marvel's other series about being heroes and finding a place in the world seems to be holding its own against the other cinematic universes.

But whether the X-Men can hold their own against the Justice League is another story. One that YouTuber stryder HD [note: this video has been removed] asks with a pretty spectacular fan trailer showing the X-Men going into battle against The Justice League - in what would probably make a pretty exciting and explosive movie.

The fan trailer cuts together footage from Justice League with several of the X-Men movies - mostly X-Men: Days of Future Past. Though there are definitely a few clips including characters who weren't introduced until X-Men: Apocalypse, such as young Storm and young Jean Gray. As is typical for mashups like this, most of the footage shown is from either one movie or another, cut together to look like the characters are interacting. However, stryder HD bravely also fuses several moments of footage together, creating scenes where Wolverine fights Wonder Woman and Professor X talks to Superman. It's a risky move, and the fact that the footage is doctored is pretty obvious, but it still seems to pay off.

Among the stronger moments in the trailer are the ones which point out the mutants and heroes with similar powers. There's a moment where The Flash can be seen running to catch up to Quicksilver. Superman's heat vision doesn't look too different than Cyclops' abilities. Wonder Woman and Storm both bright lightening to the fight. But perhaps the strongest of these moments is one that focuses on similar ideals instead of similar abilities. It is when Professor X talked to Superman about hope, the very thing Superman is often known as a symbol of.

These sorts of fan trailers seem to be stryder HD's thing, his channel has several other mashups celebrating potential fights and team-ups between various comic heroes and horror movie monsters. This specific trailer is certainly a special one though, including a little tag of a scene at the end which is worth waiting for, and a tip of the hat to the popular 90s X-Men animated series through the use of the theme song.

In real life, there almost certainly won't be an actual mash up film between Justice League and X-Men. Which is too bad, since this trailer shows just how amazing it would be.
