Barry Allen is one of the most sympathetic DC superheroes. He hasn't had an easy life but Barry doesn't let his dark past stop him from helping people. He approaches life with optimism, makes friends easily, and has a smile on his lips most of the time. So when it was announced that he would be joining the DCEU's Justice League (2017), he was a welcome addition.

Despite Barry's positive character traits and his superhero abilities, the film didn't always utilize him. Just like multiple characters, The Flash ended up a bit sidelined in comparison to more established heroes. This is just one of the things the upcoming Snyder Cut could change for the better.

Should Change: He's Used For Comic Relief

Ezra Miller as The Flash in Justice League

The Flash does get a little background story in Justice League but he primarily serves as comic relief. He brings humor and one-liners into otherwise dark, serious movie. That doesn't do a lot of service to the character, but the Snyder Cut could change it by providing more information about Barry's character - other than that he's funny and doesn't really know how to fight villains.

Should Stay The Same: The Race

Flash and Superman racing in Justice League.

Justice League is mostly serious, filled with only occasional moments of humor. One of the more prominent ones happened after the film's finale. Superman and the Flash race to find out which one of them is faster - but the audience never learned the result of the race. It was a nice nod to the comics, and if the Snyder Cut could keep the scene in, it would be even better.

Should Change: The Awkward Fight Scene With Superman

Flash.

Speaking of the Flash and Superman, it's necessary to recall the awkward fight scene between them. The Flash tries to stop Superman by running fast, but Superman slowly turns his head toward him and glares at him. Possibly because of the characters' expressions in the scene or because of the special effects, the scene looked cheesy rather than full of tension.

Should Stay The Same: Barry Befriends Other Superheroes

Even though the newly formed Justice League doesn't know each other very much, they grow closer throughout the film.

Barry is rather likable so he manages to build friendships or something close to them with his fellow team members. This was most notable with Cyborg who's of similar age, and with Wonder Woman, who's kind to the young speedster.

Should Change: Barry Enters The Speed Force

The Speed Force is an important concept linked to the Flash. In the Snyder Cut, the Speed Force will function as a vacuum of space where the force is extremely strong. Barry will then enter the Speed Force and travel through it, supposedly to stop Superman from interfering with the Justice League's actions after Superman had temporarily lost his memory.

Should Stay The Same: Batman Mentors Barry

Bruce Wayne Barry Allen

Bruce Wayne, who's surprisingly unconcerned with keeping his superhero identity a secret, is the one who recruits Barry into the team. He's also the one who gives him a piece of good advice and does a little bit of mentoring in the middle of a battle. The Flash is nervous since he hasn't really fought big enemies before, and Batman gives him an idea of what to do. He tells Barry to save just one person instead of letting his enemies overwhelm him.

Should Change: Barry Meets Iris West

Iris West is Barry Allen's greatest love and a partner in the comics but she's been curiously absent from the DCEU so far. However, that looks like it's set to change in the upcoming Snyder cut.

It looks like Iris will finally make her debut in the DCEU as fans had spotted her in the trailer. It's unclear how she will be involved and what the relationship between her and Barry will look like but it does seem like she will be part of the Flash's arc.

Should Stay The Same: Barry Becomes More Confident

The Flash gets very little space for personal development in the film. Yet he still manages to become a more confident person in the end. It starts when Batman tells him to get just one person to safety, and Barry does it. Later, it seems like he's much more assured about what he's doing. He even saves an entire family that would have died otherwise.

Should Change: The Flash And Cyborg Plan Together

Justice League Snyder Cut Cyborg Flash Battle Plan

A photo Ray Fisher (Cyborg) shared on Twitter shows Cyborg and the Flash working side by side. Apparently, the Snyder Cut will show even more interactions between the two young superheroes. In this scene, they will be considering a plan of attack.

It looks like Cyborg is projecting a picture of the Mother Box. He and Barry could think about how to stop Steppenwolf from getting his hands on all the Mother Boxes and creating the Unity which would destroy the world. It could also help strengthen the bond between them too.

Should Stay The Same: Barry Sees His Dad

Justice League Barry in prison

Barry Allen's fans no doubt know his backstory. That his dad went to prison for murdering his mom even though he didn't do it. Barry always believed in his dad's innocence. He visited him in Justice League and they had a brief conversation in the prison. It was a short scene but still a nice nod to Barry's origins and proof there's more to him than just being 'the funny guy.'
