A leaked look at Justice League merchandise teases a Superman tie-in toy that will feature the hero in his black suit from the comics. Warner Bros' DC Extended Universe technically kicked off with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel in 2013, which introduced the Kryptonian Kal-El taking refuge on Earth as Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and gradually becoming Superman. The superhero returned for the hard launch of the DCEU in Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which additionally introduced fellow heroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

Prior to the premiere of Batman V Superman, it was expected all six superheroes would return for Justice League, but the fight with Doomsday ended with both Lex Luthor's monstrous creation and Superman dying. Of course, the ending of Batman V Superman teased the Man of Steel's return within the DCEU - and we know Cavill is reprising his role for Justice League - but many have speculated about how exactly he'll return, and whether Superman will wear his black suit from the comics.

Over on Reddit, one user posted a photo of what appears to be a list of Justice League tie-in figures broken down into two series. The first series features movie-accurate figures of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Steppenwolf, and a Parademon. It's the second series where things get interesting, since this batch includes Superman wearing what appears to be a black suit. Check out the image below:

This isn't the first time fans have been treated to teases or hints at Superman wearing his black suit in Justice League. Last summer, Cavill posted a close-up shot of his Superman costume with what looked to be a black-and-white photo filter. While it's likely the image was of his blue suit, the photo's lack of color inspired plenty of speculation among fans. Then, earlier this year an edited image made the rounds featuring Cavill dressed as Superman, with the suit edited to be black. The image was quickly debunked as a fake, but fans continued to speculate and hope Justice League will feature Superman donning his black suit from the comics. Now, this latest Justice League merchandising leak may have confirmed it will happen.

That said, tie-in toys aren't always accurate to the events of a movie, they're products that toy companies predict fans will want to get their hands on. As such, considering all the talk of Superman's black suit, it may be the case that Mattel will release a Superman figure in a black suit with the rest of its Justice League toys because they believe there will be a high demand, but the suit won't actually appear in the movie.

Considering the Man of Steel has been largely kept out of the trailers for Justice League - though Superman may have appeared in the SDCC trailer for the film - it's unlikely we'll receive confirmation either way about the character's alternate costume until the movie hits theaters later this year. Still, fans will continue to speculate and this latest leak will no doubt add more fuel to the discussion.
