The trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League has been removed from YouTube not because of something happening with the film, but over a music rights issue. The Justice League Snyder Cut once seemed like an urban legend concocted by fans who were disappointed with the theatrical cut of the DC film. Eventually, though, the truth came out: Director Zack Snyder has his own version of Justice League that was almost entirely erased when Joss Whedon was brought in to complete the film. Fans campaigned for the Snyder Cut's release for years, but it was only in May of this year that they scored a major win. The Snyder Cut will premiere on HBO Max next year.

Ever since Snyder's Justice League was announced, fans have eagerly awaited any bit of news they can get on the project. While it hasn't yet received a release date, Snyder has kept fans excited by sharing images and teases. Even better, he debuted the official trailer for Justice League at DC FanDome in August. Fans were delighted by the peek at the film (now a four-part miniseries), which showed just how much new footage they can expect. The trailer itself has been redone and remixed in numerous ways over the past few months, indicating fans enjoyed it quite a lot.

However, the Justice League trailer appeared to run into an issue this past weekend. Fans noticed it had disappeared from YouTube and social media, leading some to worry that something is wrong with the film itself. Luckily, the matter has been cleared up by THR writer Aaron Couch, who revealed the Justice League trailer has been pulled due to a music rights issue. "HBO Max has removed August's trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League over music rights issues, but it will likely go back up on YouTube once the issue is resolved," Couch reported, likely relieving fans who were very confused by the entire debacle.

The trailer for the Snyder Cut notably featured a cover of the iconic song "Hallelujah," a choice Snyder himself made years ago. Many praised the use of the song, saying it fit exceptionally well for the whole Snyder Cut saga. However, it appears the choice might not have been entirely perfect, seeing as HBO Max is now facing this issue. Surely it will be resolved soon, though, allowing fans to get back to their regularly scheduled trailer rewatch.

Justice League has experienced a very unconventional journey, from its initial Whedon-led reshoots (which are currently inspiring their own headlines) to Snyder's reclamation of the project. So far, the buzz around the Snyder Cut is very positive, with fans largely excited to see what Snyder has in store for the iconic DC team. Presumably, an additional trailer will be revealed in the coming months, though hopefully HBO Max will settle the music rights ahead of posting it this time. Then, it won't be long before Zack Snyder's Justice League finally arrives.
