The trailer for the Snyder Cut of Justice League includes a Joker Easter egg. It's been a long journey for Zack Snyder and his fans to see the version of the movie he intended to release. After leaving the film in early 2017, significant reshoots on Justice League happened, and it was edited down to only being 2 hours long. The Snyder Cut of Justice League will finally be released next year on HBO Max and will completely different from the 2017 movie.

Now that the first trailer for the Snyder Cut has been released, people around the world can see the differences between Snyder's Justice League and the one released in theaters. The trailer opened with a shot of Darkseid, featured Superman in the black suit, debuted the new Steppenwolf design, and much more. There were even new scenes for the history lesson sequence and shots of the Knightmare future. With so much new footage, Snyder packed in a lot of details - and a few Easter eggs.

The shot of the Knightmare future alone showed the destroyed Hall of Justice and Wonder Woman's shield lying in the rubble, but another Easter egg quickly floated through the air. Fans, including RTAyerCutSS, have spotted a Joker card can be seen fluttering in the wind, which serves a quick nod to this universe's version of Joker, played by Jared Leto.

This isn't the first time that a Joker card has been linked to the Knightmare future first glimpsed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. During that version of the future, Ben Affleck's Batman carries a gun with a Joker card strapped to the side. Snyder previously revealed this Easter egg and is now reminding fans of the possible implications by having the card float across the screen here. Leto's Joker isn't expected to appear in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, but this Easter egg is likely one that Snyder planned to pay off in the future.

The Knightmare future will only have a small role in Justice League but would play a larger role in sequels. It was confirmed in the past that part of Justice League 2 would be set in this future, and many have speculated about what role Joker could play in it. The card could be a sign that Batman killed Joker or even that the former enemies are working together to try and defeat Darkseid and evil Superman. Since it is a longshot that Justice League 2 will happen, it's more likely than not that this Joker Easter egg will not be paid off in the future.
