The Justice League Snyder Cut official teaser trailer will release next month at the DC FanDome event. In 2017, months before Justice League was meant to hit theaters, director Zack Snyder exited the project and Warner Bros. brought in Joss Whedon to helm reshoots and complete the theatrical cut. Once the movie released, it became clear the theatrical cut was significantly different to what Snyder had envisioned - which only became more obvious over the years as he released images from scenes he filmed that were cut from the movie. Fans rallied around Snyder and launched the Release the Snyder Cut campaign, asking Warner Bros. to release a version of the film that embodied Snyder's original vision.

After more than three years of campaigning to see the director's original plan for this DC team-up movie, the fan movement was ultimately a success. Snyder announced in May that the Justice League Snyder Cut will release on HBO Max in 2021. However, this announcement prompted even more questions, including what needed to be done to complete the cut. Further reports indicated the Snyder Cut could be released as either a very long movie or a TV show. In the weeks following the announcement, Snyder offered teases of his cut and confirmed that he was already hard at work on a trailer for his Justice League. Now, we know when that trailer will release.

During the Spotlight on Zack Snyder panel at Justice Con, Snyder confirmed the Justice League Snyder Cut trailer will release on August 22, at the DC FanDome virtual event. The director first confirmed the trailer was in the works the same week the cut was officially announced, telling a fan on Vero he was working on it. Then last month Snyder revealed he'd be at DC FanDome, and many speculated he'd be bringing a trailer, though it wasn't confirmed until now.

It makes sense for Snyder to unveil the trailer at DC FanDome considering the virtual event is being put on for fans and creators to celebrate all things DC, but in a safe way with the ongoing global pandemic. When San Diego Comic-Con was cancelled earlier this year, the entertainment industry lost one of their biggest stages of the year to announce, promote and celebrate their upcoming projects. Though it may not be a theatrical film, the Justice League Snyder Cut is undoubtedly a beloved project. As such, the Justice League Snyder Cut trailer releasing next month at DC FanDome offers HBO Max the chance to promote the film on the biggest stage possible to the fans who will be most excited to about it.

As for what the trailer will entail, Snyder specifically called it a teaser trailer so it may be relatively short in length - between one to two minutes. HBO Max will no doubt hold a fuller trailer until closer to the project's release. Already, Snyder has released two clips from his movie, one of Wonder Woman discovering Darkseid. More recently, Snyder unveiled a short Justice League Snyder Cut clip featuring Superman's black suit, which he wears after being resurrected. These clips may be included in the trailer, but Snyder's sure to also include plenty of unseen footage as well. Fans will get a chance to see the Justice League Snyder Cut trailer for themselves in a little under a month.
