Zack Snyder's Justice League has more than just one Kryptonian suit as Superman comes back to life in the upcoming HBO Max film. One of the biggest aspects of the 2017 iteration of Justice League was how it handled Henry Cavill's Superman. While he was always meant to come back to life, fans wouldn't see him right away in the traditional red and blue costume. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was an adaptation of the infamous Death of Superman storyline. Obviously, Clark Kent was never meant to stay dead and the way he was going to come back in the DCEU was similar to the comics where it included a new suit.

In the comic book storyline, Kent dons a black-and-silver-uniform that also acts as solar armor. Since comic Kent was still recovering from his battle with Doomsday, the black suit was introduced. For Snyder's Superman, Cavill would have also suited up with a darker costume, though whether or not it also acts as a regeneration suit like in the comics remains to be seen: ahead of Justice League's theatrical release, Snyder had to step away from directing the film after a devastating family tragedy. With Warner Bros. not happy with his vision, they brought in Joss Whedon to reimagine the story and the black suit was removed as part of those adjustments.

Now, the official Snyder Cut of Justice League is being released. It will feature Cavill in the black Superman suit and, it appears, it will show several others of Kryptonian origin. In a new promo for Justice League that focuses on Superman, Kent is seen walking through the Kryptonian scoutship from Man of Steel. Even though Kent won't be wearing all of them, it's still intriguing to see them spotlighted as they do all have significant meaning in Kryptonian culture and the DCEU. This is every suit on Superman's scout ship in the Justice League Snyder Cut.

The first one is what the DCEU's Superman started with back in 2013 – his original red-and-blue costume. In this iteration of the Superman origin story, Martha Kent never made the outfit for him like in other versions. Instead, when Kent discovers his Kryptonian heritage, the suit is waiting for him on the scout ship after he activates the Jor-El A.I. The last time it was seen (excluding the Whedon cut), was in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for which it had a slight redesign. Even though it was damaged in his fight with Doomsday, it seems that the Kryptonian scout ship had a back-up if Kent ever wanted to don the red-and-blue again.

Female Kryptonian Sub-Commander Armor

Another suit of armor on the ship looks a lot like the uniform that Faora wore in Man of Steel. Faora, who was General Zod's right hand and the Kryptonian sub-commander, hasn't been seen again since that movie's climax. Towards the end of the attempted Kryptonian invasion, Faora was sent to the Phantom Zone as Colonel Hardy used the phantom drive to stop Black Zero from terraforming the Earth. Based on the structure of the armor, it's possible that it belonged to one of the female Kryptonians who were part of this scout ship's crew. It seems that the events of the Man of Steel prequel comic are canon to a degree given that this is the same ship that Kara Zor-El was on when it crashed on Earth. Perhaps this armor, which seems to have a red cape and yellow armor panels, was meant to be her first Supergirl suit.

There's another set of Kryptonian armor on the ship that will look familiar to Man of Steel fans. In the Justice League clip, there's one suit that is almost the same design as what General Zod wore in the 2013 film. Had the crew members survived, it would likely have been worn by someone in a high-ranking position. It's unclear if the inclusion of all these other sets of armor is meant to be part of something Snyder intended to set up in sequels. There has to be a reason why so many suits are being seen in this particular scene from the Snyder Cut. Perhaps this specific suit of armor would have been worn by a future villain, given how similar it is to Zod's battle suit.

Kryptonian Outposts Armor

There's another connection to the Man of Steel prequel book that the Justice League teaser alludes to and that's the fourth armor set. While Snyder's first Superman film didn't have any of the Kryptonians wear this specific suit, the prequel comic had Kryptonians in the outposts donning it. Kara was actually one of the crew members who wore it in the comic book. Interestingly enough, the way the outposts armor is designed has a little bit of a Brainiac allusion to it, with the circles. Even though his symbol only has three circles, it's not impossible to associate this suit with what Brainiac wears. Although imagine if someone like Lex Luthor got a hold of it as the basis for a certain Lexosuit he builds in the comics?

Superman's Black Suit

Lastly, there is the black suit that so many have been waiting to see Cavill wear. Through past trailers and teasers, fans have already seen the new suit in action. Just like his traditional costume, Superman's black suit looks great in motion and it will be a treat seeing Superman fighting in it. The black suit is part of a Superman arc Snyder had set out for Cavill's version of the DC icon, but it won't be the first time the DCEU's Kent wears a black Superman outfit. In Man of Steel, Kent briefly wears a black version of his first uniform during a mind-confrontation with Zod. But at last, the Snyder Cut will have Kent sporting the black Superman costume, and this time it won't just be for a few minutes.

It's still a mystery what the other Kryptonian armors on the scout ship might be intended for down the line. It would be odd for the DCEU to show them as a teaser and then never do anything with them in future stories. Whether Lex steals the outpost's armor to make his Lexosuit or if Kara Zor-El shows up and needs a suit, there are ways that they can be used. It's nostalgic to see so many elements from Man of Steel be incorporated into Justice League almost seven years later. Even though there are plans for a Justice League sequel, it seems that, for the time being, it won't be happening after the Snyder Cut. According to the director himself, Warner Bros. isn't interested in continuing this particular incarnation of the DC Universe beyond his 4-hour cut. But there were people that claimed the Snyder Cut would never happen and now it's actually being released. But hopefully, the Justice League Snyder Cut will confirm a bit more about what the other suits are meant for on Superman's scout ship.
