With the Justice League Snyder Cut set to undergo additional filming, how could this effect season 2 of Netflix's The Witcher? Additional photography for the Snyder Cut was first teased earlier this year by Zack Snyder himself. News recently broke that the Snyder Cut will indeed go back for roughly a week's worth of new filming in October, but this doesn't paint a full picture of how Henry Cavill could be involved, and more specifically, how it will be coordinated with season 2 of The Witcher.

Cavill was among the cast members named as being expected to return for the new scenes, but he himself stated that his Superman is not involved in any additional shooting in an interview. By the same token, the interview in question was from before the official announcement of the pick-ups. Coupled with Cavill's involvement with The Witcher, and his is a rather complicated situation to be broken down.

Given Cavill's statement in the interview, it's certainly possible that he is, in fact, not among the cast members returning for more scenes, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher having also been named in reporting on the added scenes. Under such a scenario, The Witcher, as one of the productions to cautiously return to filming following the COVID-19 related shutdowns, would not be affected in any way by the Snyder Cut's additional shooting. At the same time, should Cavill be a part of Snyder's new scenes, there are obvious logistics to be streamlined between the two.

With the new shooting for the Snyder Cut reported to last for approximately a week, this theoretically wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Depending on how long Cavill would be needed, his absence from The Witcher for a limited amount of time would likely be manageable. Devoting a specific block of filming for all of Cavill's new scenes would be the easiest way to go about this, allowing Cavill to complete the scenes he would be needed for in as short a time span as possible. In turn, The Witcher could schedule scenes not involving Geralt of Rivia during Cavill's absence until his return to set.

This wouldn't even be the first time Cavill has gone between two productions during the making of Justice League specifically. The movie's initial reshoots were done within the same time span as Mission: Impossible - Fallout, with Cavill's mustache in that movie causing massive trouble for the theatrical version of the superhero team-up. Fortunately, managing the Snyder Cut's additional photography with The Witcher wouldn't be anywhere near the nightmare that the initial Justice League reshoots proved to be, due to the brevity of Snyder's shooting schedule. To the benefit of both productions, Geralt's white hair being a wig would also make it very easy to avoid a repeat of the Superman mustache debacle, as well.

All of this is conjecture until more is revealed about how filming will proceed on the new scenes Snyder plans to add, and considering the October time frame for that, those answers should be coming fairly soon. If Cavill ends up returning to shoot more scenes, coordination with his schedule on The Witcher will be crucial. What is certainly true is that the book is far from being closed on the Justice League Snyder Cut, and with the right amount of careful planning, Henry Cavill could be a part of adding a few more lines to it.
